Semin would drive us nuts. One of the most tantalizing and frustrating players out there.

Holmstrom is done, or close to done. So many hard, hard miles on that body.

Holmstrom and Kostitsyn? Good Lord, what is this world coming to?

Also, I forgot about my annual FA rant so here it is. Shoulda signed Satan when we had a chance.

Kostitsyn ~ A more, cost effective replacement for Parise. Could have a break-out year in placed in the right situation & players.

Semin ~ As much hate there is for him out there, it's worth a shot to grab him & play with Kovy. Could make for an explosive scoring line.
Kovy and Semin on the same line? we'll probably get trapped in our zone whenever they're on the ice

I don't believe any significant forward help is coming in the 2012 calendar year unless significant salary is going the other way.

I think a trade is the way to go rather than free agency. We've got some decent trade chips on D, one of whom we really need to move.

according to the Ottawa Sun writer Don Brennan the only teams that have expressed interest in Alexander Semin are Detroit & New Jersey.

not sure how reliable the guy is.

I still can't come to grips with what transpired this week. The respect for the former #9 (will not utter his name anymore) is totally gone. After last season's disappointment I could possibly understand but this year?

Funny how Kovy after coming from Atl has always gone out of his way to acknowledge the fans and seems to truly appreciate us but the other guy, eh, not so much. Apparently his new digs is the place to be if players want true fan appreciation. What a tool, what a friggin dillweed.

It's not Garrioch, so I'll give him the benefit of doubt for now. Makes some sense to me. I don't see Pittsburgh giving Semin a multi-year deal, which is what it would take. I think he wants some more security after taking back to back one year deals.

There's going to be a feeling out period for sure. One that won't be automatically done by training camp or a few meaningless preseason games.
Koivu is an elite passer and 2 way center, much like Zajac. Heatley is a sniper right winger like Kovy.

One of the D-men certainly have to be moved before the season.

If we are going to acquire a FW that seems like the way to do it.

Shouldn't Detroit worry about their defense? Leave Semin for us.

Or take Tallinder for Filppula.

Someone was tossing around Tallinder for Stalberg on the Trade Board, I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Datsyuk is a 2-way center, much like Backes.

Wait what?

Go ask Shero, he should take a look or two at his D too.

Wasn`t me, but I mentioned it before too. Chicago, St.Louis and Edmonton seem like a good trading partners for us. Minny and Nashville, not so much.

Wish they were though.

I threw that out there wondering if that'd be fair. He's a decent sized winger who could be a nice replacement for what Poni could've brought for half as much money. I don't know what Blackhawks fans would think of that though.

Who`s underrating him? I`m not even sure this guy realizes what he`s saying. Comparing Heatley to Kovalchuk, yikes.

Agreed, Koivu`s very good, just overpaid and can`t finish the season healthy to save his life.

Koivu is pretty much a Finnish version of Zajac.
