I still can't come to grips with what transpired this week. The respect for the former #9 (will not utter his name anymore) is totally gone. After last season's disappointment I could possibly understand but this year?
Funny how Kovy after coming from Atl has always gone out of his way to acknowledge the fans and seems to truly appreciate us but the other guy, eh, not so much. Apparently his new digs is the place to be if players want true fan appreciation. What a tool, what a friggin dillweed.
according to the Ottawa Sun writer Don Brennan the only teams interested in Alexander Semin are Detroit & New Jersey.
not sure how reliable the guy is.
It's not Garrioch, so I'll give him the benefit of doubt for now. Makes some sense to me. I don't see Pittsburgh giving Semin a multi-year deal, which is what it would take. I think he wants some more security after taking back to back one year deals.
Koivu and Heatley are nothing like Zajac and Kovy. Nothing at all. He's never ever played with either of them. And he's going to have to adapt a bit to what each player's strengths/weaknesses/tendencies are, as will they.
There's going to be a feeling out period for sure. One that won't be automatically done by training camp or a few meaningless preseason games.
Koivu is an elite passer and 2 way center, much like Zajac. Heatley is a sniper right winger like Kovy.
Someone was tossing around Tallinder for Stalberg on the Trade Board, I wouldn't be opposed to that.
I threw that out there wondering if that'd be fair. He's a decent sized winger who could be a nice replacement for what Poni could've brought for half as much money. I don't know what Blackhawks fans would think of that though.
