Semin

Any news or rumours involving this guy?

Since Ryan and Nash aren't going anywhere I figure he's the third most likely target for teams in the sweepstakes for those guys.

Somehow I doubt that Doan is willing to live that far away from his family in Phoenix.

From what we are led to believe, only the New Jersey Devils and Detroit Red Wings have expressed any real interest in Semin.

Article in the Ottawa Sun states that Semin's agent said that Semin would be interested in playing in Ottawa.

Although Ottawa doesn't have the best track record with Russians we're below the cap floor meaning signing Semin to a 1 year deal around 5 million might be a great idea.

We don't need him but we need his salary.. Why not take the gamble. Plus if Gonchar can be a huge influence and help to Malkin why can't he do the same to Semin.

If I'm the Semin's agent I tell that to any team that calls him.
It's not like Semin has the luxury of having 20 teams offering 80M+ like Parise.
You bring in as many team as possible to increase offers (even if Semin not that interested) than remove those teams that he is not really interested when he is choosing his "short-list"

Yeah, because that structure is working really well for you guys right now. No defense and all offense... wait, three first overall picks. Nevermind.

If that is his best offer and/or he signs that, I will personally throw him a parade.

'The Semin Parade' through downtown Pittsburgh may cause some confusion and bring people thinking that they were there for something else. But sure I will attend.

Wait, if his heart is in DC, should anyone else really want him at all? At any price? Because what I saw in DC I wouldn't exactly call "heart".

That Pittsburg 4-year /$4.5M rumor came from, like, HockeyyInsiderrrr or some other account that was debunked a long time ago. Don't put any stock in that one.

Very true! Regardless I still like the idea of him on Spezza's wing!

Most on the Pittsburgh board, even those who said 'hell no' only a few days ago, have come around to the idea of Semin on Crosby's wing.

Which means that he certainly will sign elsewhere.

Signing longterm with NJD would be risky due to the teams financial troubles and possibly more importantly, because their two top center center will both be UFAs next offseason.

Playoffs TOI
Rank Player TOI/GP Status
1 Travis Zajac 20:28 UFA'13
2 Patrik Elias 18:30 UFA'13
3 Adam Henrique 17:14 ELC
4 Jacob Josefson 13:40 ELC

He's the same clown that said his reliable sources told him the Pens had a deal worked out with Parise.

Then after the Wils signed him, Shero said in his presser that it never even got past the stage where Parise's camp called back to negotiate.

His sources involve wire, tinfoil and a close friend name Jack.

He also claimed Suter would go to Detroit. He's not reliable. Although he does get some things right from time to time and at a better rate than Eklund. I guess a chimp could guess right more than Eklund though.

Someone SIGN THIS GUY so caps fans can move on from this dope. Don't give me this BS that is 'heart' is in DC. He never wanted to play hard here. GO preferably to the West.

If Pens sign him, I'll LOL. at McPhee that is for being such a fool.

Pretty obvious what's going on with Semin. He has a KHL offer (from CSKA), wants the same or more in the NHL, not getting it. Won't get it.
