Oh. Ok. I'd be surprised if he'd go for much less than that though - and remember, there's a good chance that's not for 1 year. You could re-sign him long-term.
But fair enough.
Edit: actually, yeah that does seem like a pretty steep price - I was imagining that Holland knows he can re-sign Weber, in my head.
Any team trading for Weber should have a good idea. They can actually talk to him because of his RFA status right now. For it to be a pure rental the season has to start or he has to have come to contractual terms with Nashville. The Wings can call right now and get a yeh or neh on whatever their proposal would be. He can talk about that without actually siging an offer sheet which I think is something people are over looking and something I would assume most interested teams are figuring out.
Doesn't Enstrom have one year left on his contract? Sorry, not worth losing Helm for.
Is there any possibility that if Winnipeg sent you Enstrom that Smith could be part of a package coming back our way? I realize you need defense so giving up a young defenseman likely doesn't make too much sense, but you need guys now and we need guys who will be peaking a few years from so I wondered if it would be a possibility.
Assume that Enstrom had previously agreed to sign an extension with Detroit once the trade was done otherwise there would be no way.
Tatar, Jurco, 1st 2014? Not sure about this 1 tell me what you guys think
That's a good offer. Not sure if Detroit would deal Jurco, but that deal is certainly good for both Detroit and Winnipeg . Detroit might even win it if those forwards don't pan out. Maybe they also need to add a 3rd/4th round pick and Winnipeg a 7th.
But, Jurco and Tatar got great skill, so they should be able to land somewhere in the NHL, or in Detroit if they don't trade either.
until better options open up during the season, at the trade deadline, or UFA next year.
only issue is that ottawa cant trade gonchar without knowing what the salary floor will be next year. They're 4M under right now (probably ~1M under with a full roster), and knocking off gonchar's 5.5M might make it impossible to reach the floor.
NP we'll send Redden and his $6.5 million back to Ottawa.
