Thats just brutal, no way Bergiven does this, if you give OEL, Yandle and Gormley, I'd think he'd accept
OEL and Yandle have more or equal value to any of those players. The best player is OEL ainec. You want those three, Galchenyuk and Subban better be coming back... and then some.
Ya...that is even worst for the Habs as Vermette is not at the level of Plekanec and Beaulieu is more then a 2nd rounder in value. Gomez would likely be a throw in in case the 'Yotes have issues reaching the cap floor, I have no clue if they are over, and people need to realize while his cap hit is $7.8M I believe he is only getting paid $4.5M in real dollars.
I'm very impressed with the Montreal players -- except Gomez. I don't think Phoenix gives up OEL. And if they do, it won't be for the privilege of taking on Gomez.
I would consider Subban more valuable than Galchenyuk, but that's just my opinion. They could become equal a year or two from now. Both cornerstones and both won't be traded.
you're gonna get hab haters to come so its pointless, HF is not the best place to garner an accurate assessment of value.
It's not just Habs haters, OEL is a tad overrated right now by the mass majority, not as much as McDonagh though.
In case anyone wants to do a poll I suggest not adding one and only have people present arguments, I'd actually want to see what the OEL side can come up with for him to be AINEC better than anyone (read: Subban) in this package.
I won't even touch the topic of Galchenyuk, you shouldn't even be allowed to type his name on this forum.

...and I told you before OUR GUYS ARE BETTER THAN YOURS
Oliver will only get better
You can tell that his offense will improve and next season he is expected to be paired with a better (and healthier player)
Playing Coach Tippet's style of hockey will tend to hurt some players stats while some players stats will look better, it's about the role they play and the players around them, so comparing 1 player on 1 team to a player on another team without thinking that it's more about winning the game does not make any sense...
You're underrating Vermette. He's a very, very good player.
And personally, it'd take a lot more than Beaulieu to make me want to take on Gomez, but I can only speak for cap teams.
Agreed.
However, for me personally, I'd rather send him down, or at worse keep him on the team than deal Beaulieu and potentially more just to get rid of Gomez for 2 years.
I know OEL is the flavor of the month, but he's at best a marginal upgrade on subban.
Plekanec >> Vermette
Beaulieu >> 2nd rd pick
No way moving gomez's contract will cost that much.
My take exactly.
Also, trying to unload Gomez simply won't work. He's fallen so far in the last two years, that he's not even worth his actual salary, even for a team trying to get to the cap floor. They'd be better off overpaying for a guy who produces a little bit.
WOW! I would say the GM in Phoenix wouldn't even answer the phone for that trade.
Horrible how Habs fans overvalue their crap.
Ekman-Larsson > Subban
Vermette > Plekanec (in Tippetts system)
2nd rd pick > Gomez and Beaulieu (cause of the salary for Gomez)
NO FRIGGIN WAY
I think Plekanec would be great here. Would love to see him in brick red.
If we either weren't so stacked when it comes to defensive prospects, or Beaulieu was replaced with a promising forward prospect, I'd be intrigued by this proposal (not saying I would do it, but it'd be something to think about, I think). As it is though it seems like at best a lateral swap, with the addition of a prospect we don't need at the moment and an overpaid Gomez.
Wtf are you talking about? This is quantity and MUCHO QUALITY. Watch an other team than the 'Yotes from time to time mmkay?
As I said before, which you evidently didn't read:

If we were to deal either Yandle or OEL; we would need a package around a relatively young (ideally Yandle's age), NHL proven, top-line, game breaking forward coming back. There are very few teams that could spare such a player in a trade. And someone like Plakanec is not it. I don't think Mont has anyone in their organization that fits the bill, so we are not interested.
A couple of teams might have that type of quality and depth at forwards that could make such a deal, which are Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis, Edmonton; and that's pretty much about it.
More quantity for quality, so thatbwould be a resounding no. I don't think there is anyone on montreal (that could be reasonably available), that we would be interested in, especially for either Yandle or OEL.
I don't usually comment on others opinions of trade proposals on this site, but the post I quoted above is the stupidest thing I've ever read on this board.
Yes - Plekanec, Beaulieu and Subban are "quantity". Give your head a shake.
