Edmonton - Winnipeg

I understand all the love my latest proposals have been getting.

To Winnipeg:

Ales Hemsky
Colten Teubert

To Edmonton:

Tobias Enstrom

Winnipeg upgrade on the right wing and Teubert provides Postma with some competition.

Edmonton upgrade on defence.

Hemsky is too big a risk to trade Enstrom for. Winnipeg says no way.

I think WPG would like Hemsky, but not at the expense of Enstrom.

Conditional first on Hemsky's health?

Winnipeg wants to get bigger and faster.

Not more skilled and fragile.

Enstrom is UFA next year. If the jets are not in a playoff spot he will be traded for a draft pick. Anaheim got a 2nd for Visnovsky and he had 18 goals and 68 points 2 seasons ago. Which was also Enstrom's best season points wise, 11 goals 54 points. I wouldn't do that trade from an oiler perspective, if they wanted a player like him they could have got Visnovsky for Anaheims own 2nd round pick...

Except Visnovsky is 8 years older and might not even play in the NHL next year...

"two seasons ago" is very important when discussing 35 year olds. He had 27 points last season. He has clearly hit his peak and is on the decline. Enstrom has room for improvement as he is now beginning to enter his prime.

Snow got taken for a ride.

Where is he going? He's under contract for next year and no matter how you look at it Enstrom is still a rental player unless he signs an extension...

If the Jets need to acquire d, it would be more dman like Enstrom, not Teubert who fits into the mold of Bogosian, Stuart, Buff, etc.

Funny that 99 out of 100 Hemsky proposals are from Oiler fans.

still a tough defence to play against, look at the size of the Kings defence.

The only risk in this thread is Enstrom being a UFA in 2013. Winnipeg know.

That doesn't mean, he is worth scraps. I don't know much about Teubert, Hemsky is great player when healthy, but still, if Jets can't resign Enström and decide to trade him, i'm pretty sure he would fetch more than this...

No handouts for the Oilers. I'd rather trade Enstrom for pieces the Jets could use both now and in the future. Hemsky is more fragile than the U.S economy. If we wanted a soft top 6 forward, we'd sign Semin in FA.

Fragile is 1 thing. Soft proves you havent watched Hemsky and are just going off of HF where he is a soft euro who stays out of traffic. I wonder how he gets injured being so soft unless, oiler fans who watch him are right when they say he drives the net, goes to the corners, battles along the boards etc

I dont deny when people call him injury prone but I hate when he gets called soft

Of course oilers fans want to move hemsky... not because he is bad but because we have people ahead of him perhaps you have heard of them... Nail yakupov and Jordan eberle. Good players do get traded just because he is one of our best assets to move doesnt mean hes bad.

You have to be kidding, Enstrom is a good offensive D, but the Oilers have J.Schultz now. Enstrom is UFA in a year, a lot to give up for a 1yr rental, especially when there is a good chance the Oilers will not make the playoffs. lakai17 your making Oiler fans look bad.

There would be many other teams offering better.

Hemsky at this point is not an attractive option. The Jets have no use for Teubert either.

Klefbom is better than Justin today but yeah everyone has penciled Shultz in the lineup today like he made the team already..

Every scout and hockey expert will tell you J.Schultz is ready, he's not going to play top pair minute, but he'll will play. Klefbom is still developing and should be ready next year, although some say he's ready now. It's best for Klefbom to play another year in the SEL and get top pair minutes and more time on the PP. I'll bet you that's the reason the Oilers didn't try to bring him over this year.

facepalm? really!??

Klefbom is NHL ready today, he has been playing in a mens league since he was 17, if it wasn't for his contract he would be higher on the list than J.Schultz at the moment.

Klefbom > J.Schultz

I can already picture you riding shotty on the Klefbom wagon.
