In the future, you have to go with Kovalchuk. He's only getting better at this point, and when Heatley returns at full form, there will be less attention put on him.

For this season, I'm going to say Hossa's going to pull it out, although Kovalchuk will put up more goals than Hossa, and win the Richard trophy.

Kovalchuk probably would score more goals, but Hossa can turn on the jets and make it a close race like last season.

Wasn't this question asked before?

Oh well... my answer: I'd choose Hossa over Kovalchuk right now, ... but the future is a different story.

Because in the past three years we've had a COUNTLESS number of Kovalchuk vs. XYZ threads.

Kovalchuk vs. Heatley
Kovalchuk vs. Spezza
Kovalchuk vs. Gaborik
Kovalchuk vs. Frolov
Kovalchuk vs. Lecavalier
Kovalchuk vs. Thornton

They are all exactly the same: with the same question and the same responses.

I miss Kovalchuk v Frolov. That was good times.

Let's do that again.

Did you forgot about those Kovalchuk vs Lemieux; Kovalchuk vs Greztky;
Kovalchuk vs God master of universe?

Kovalchuk vs. Mothra?
Kovalchuk vs. Rodan?
Kovalchuk vs. The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man?

Kovalchuk wins all three easily.

God over Ilya by a hair. However, I reserve the right to change my mind if:

a) Kovalchuk sustains the same level of performance for next 20 years
b) I don't feel the need to kiss up to God anymore
