Would the Isles consider something around Hemsky for Nino +?

Isles imo would not give up 19 yr old Nino alone for Hemsky.Let alone adding something

Why can't opposing fans grasp, that the isles would not want to pay the oft injured Hemsky $5m?

Or that the isles have not soured on 19 yr old Nino. He'll turn 20 in Sept.
Old enough to be sent to Bridgeport, logging a lot of 1st line icetime.

Counter proposal:Klefbom for Reasoner + Anders Lee.

Same Oilers fans who thought the Hemsky contract was a beauty now constantly trying to unload him? Okposo did struggle to start the season but 2012 Okposo > 2012 Hemsky.

Maybe the Islanders will be willing to do Streit + MacDonald + Strome + Nielsen <--> No1 dman Jeff Petry

They should've known the Oilers were going to win the lottery and draft Yakupov who plays the same position.

He's worth 5m and it's only 2 years during which the Oilers won't be a cap team. I'd like to keep him like I said earlier.

I don't know why lol, but it seems the majority of Hemsky threads/discussions about Hemsky are started by Oiler fans lol. They try to pawn him off on other teams, despite the fact that there is no apparent need for him there, while asking for a good player in return from that team. Then, when they are told there is no interest, they all pile in and defend Hemsky. Honestly, if he is so awesome Oiler fans, just keep him and leave the rest of us alone.

I don't understand the hatred from Avalanche fans. There isn't really a rivalry there. I mean, there was the whole RNH/Landeskog thing but we all know RNH is the better player.

Anyway, Isles won't be trading for an impact player any time soon. They are not in a position where they would give up future talent for present talent.

Hatred? This has nothing to do with being an avalanche fan. Its the truth. After Hemsky signed his contract you all told us how great he was, and now most of you want to move him lol. Oh, love the comment about RNH. You wonder why your disliked? Lol.

Ok,.I'll do this really slowly for you. When EDM resigned Hemsky it was BEFORE they won the draft lottery. Hemsky is RW but winning the lottery EDM gets the opportunity to draft the consensus best player who surprise surprise is also a RW, now those 2 together with Eberle means we have 3 top 6 RW's.
Now personally I hope that Hemsky could be moved to the left side but some others feel he might be moved in a deal to fill a need elsewhere hence why he has been included in trade proposals recently.
Hope this clears things up for you....

Islanders would say no way to this one...why would they even think about it? Okposo is younger and better than Hemsky.

First off, almost every Hemsky trade proposal is by one guy. We don't judge Aves fans on your town crier, don't do it to us.

Second, when the extension was signed, we didn't have Nail Yakupov as a guy coming in to play top six minutes.

In the real world, GM's trade from areas of strength to help shore up areas of weakness. Most of us still like Hemsky and want to keep him, but realize that for us to get the type of player we want (top 4 d-man), we may have to give him up.

Okposo for Hemsky is not a case of trading for an "impact" player. It's a case of trading for a for a player that one could argue is a slight improvement who makes 3M more in actual salary(2M in caphit) that has 2 years less on his current contract before he becomes a UFA

That argument might hold weight if the proposal was Hemsky for picks and/or prospects

Make no mistake about it, Ales Hemsky IS an impact player.

Ales Hemsky for Kyle Okposo makes no sense what-so-ever.

Thank you Lakai17 for the laughs of this proposal.

Then don't try and trade him for top 5 pick that is 19. That is the problem other fans have. Trade him for an oft injured D-man or Centre making 5 million per year to a team looking for a right winger. I will leave it to you to go find who fits that bill

My post was in response to the oilers hating post by Avs44 who obviously was questioning why an Oilers poster had included Hemsky in many of HIS multitude of trade proposals even though the Oilers resigned him at the deadline.

If Hemsky is traded and that is a big IF, he will be traded for the best value the Oilers can and for a return which the Oilers deem is a good fit for them, not what you or any other random hfer say he can be traded for.

Thanks for coming out though.....

BTW Okposo is 24 and a #7 overall.

The best part of this is the OP proposed the deal, then said "Hemsky>Okposo". Why propose the deal if your player is better?

Then, he says Hemsky is over-rated and injury prone to an Oilers fan, trying to convince him to trade him, turns right around and makes him sound like the second coming of Crosby to Isles fans
