Sounds good, a guy like him that sees and understand the game so well could probably do fine as a scout too. Lets hope he will find his own replacement, cause we could really need one right now.

He not exactly an disorganized guy, he have never left anything to chance, so I think he will do his job fine.

There's 2 ways this pans out:

1) He tells them about his kid (the good one, most athletes kids end up to be bums but knowing Lidstrom, at least one will be good) and they draft him.
2) In 10 years, he tells Detroit he's found the next Lidstrom, and shows up to camp himself rejuvenated after finding the fountain of youth.

"I wouldn't draft him. I don't think he'd be able to get by me."

Great for Red Wings fans to still have him a part of the organization. I thought he would take some time off and go back to Sweden with his family for a bit but I'm sure no Red Wings fans will be complaining about this. If he can spot hockey talent half as good as he can play it, Wings will probably continue with their great drafting record.

Really good appointment by Detroit. He gives them a great European perspective and one that could become beneficial in the future.
