Thank you for the constructive input, please feel free to throw out a suggestion or 2.

This is not the be-all and end all, but I repeat I did not come up with those 2 in a vacuum. On the main board, there was a thread seeking Dubi, willing to go just McNeil OR Olsen for him. As I said, they really need Biron, arguably could see McNeil AND Olsen + for Dubi + Biron +.
Similarly, a number of Leafs' fans could see Gardiner for Thomas.

So I don't think we really need to add heavy quality here.
But I welcome your input...

It would be for the playoffs when it really matters

couldn't disagree with you more, move doan to the first line RW spot and move pyatt to the 3rd line and that's still a very very good lineup. then when december rolls around go back to my original lineup.

If you think its the deepest lineup in the league, you should watch more hockey

find me a DEEPER line up than what i originally proposed. Yes some teams have better top 6's but there's not too many deeper than that. If you will please show me sir.

I specifically said NOT cheap, just reasonable, as opposed to some ridiculous excessive we'd not wanna pay.

It was rumored unofficially somewhere on the big board if I remember that devs would seriously consider trading Kovalchuk, not to just to retain Parise, but easy financial issues.

I think they give away Larsson for free to someone out west before they do a deal with us, but it never hurts to show an open mind.

You would like to think Nashville has a plan that they're working on, as well as a plan-B. It's tough to turn down that huge deal that may be written out o the CBA. Poile may take the hard stance - Sign now, or take your chances later...
If I were to guess, and this is only a guess, I don't think money is the biggest factor for Weber. It depends on the direction he feels Nashville is going and may also depend on how much value he puts on choosing his own destiny.

All unknowns at this point. No one knows if Weber becomes available. It's just silly not to at least ask simply because "defense isn't a weakness."

For example a better 3rd line than Dubi-Ani-Doan

Depth was a huge problem in the playoffs. Everyone said it, from Torts on down.

You added a 35 year old Shane Doan on top of the lateral 4th line moves, and all of a sudden we have the deepest team in the league? Give me a break with that stuff.

debatable, their 3rd line in the scf if i remember correctly was King-Stool-Lewis? Dubi-Ani-Doan is better, no questions asked.

Far fetchedness is in dispute.

IF we owned his rights (or had dibs to sign him), again, my mistake that was not the case but

IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF we did, he would have been an attractive player to them in a deal at a certain price. They would never had signed him; he'd already be our property.

again find me a deeper team than the originally lineup i proposed. Regardless of age Doan is still a legit top 6 forward and he'd be on our 3rd line!

Hagelin Richards Doan
Kreider Stepan Callahan
Dubinsky Anisimov Pyatt
Asham boyle rupp

If this lineup played our line up that we used durning the winter classic in a 7 game series, I'd have trouble picking a winner, and may actually pick this one.

So maybe not deepest in the league but way up there, since even with Gaborik out this would be a very competitive team

Take Doan around to some ranch estates in Tewksbury, NJ.

There is some rural area around for Doan if he wants that.

No, and the price would likely be high.
But I'm curious to know what it would be.

Let me simplify it all for you. We add Doan and Dubi to our 4th line and subtract prust and boyle. We add Boyle Pyatt and Asham (only lateral move) and subtract Rupp, Mitchell and Feds. Yes I do believe this would make us the deepest team in the league

Hags-Richards-Gabs. Kreider-stepan-Doan. Dubi-AA-Callahan. Pyatt-boyle-rupp. That IS the best overall depth in the game imho

Dubinsky injured for 2 rounds, Hagelin suspended three games, Boyle's head shaken up, Sauer on Ltir, that could be a start as to why we had no depth.

One winger would make a huge difference, the worst thing you can do for depth is trade away more assets then you get in return

That's not the best overall depth unless Stepan becomes a 60+ point player this year, Dubi goes back to 50 point form, Cally scores 30~ again, and Kreider scores 25~ goals. No guarantee as to those things.

It's a deep team, but I can't say it's THE deepest.

Remember last time when Daneyko said he heard that Jack Johnson was headed to the Rangers along with Rick Nash. The Sunday afternoon before the trading deadline.

Enough.
