I think this hiring could be very good for Burns, Vlasic, Braun, and Demers. All are in critical stages of development. Demers especially.
Actually, no. The next season, he coached them to a finals loss and then in the middle of the stretch run the season after that is when he got canned. He came back for more after the lockout and got canned again in the first season then Lou took over the rest of the way. lol

hell yes, he was just in the finals as an assistant and has 6 cups as one of the all time great defenseman - who better to learn from as an NHL D. You could argue that the Devils overachieved last season, perhaps do to his coaching in this area...
This is a great move, really good to have a defense-oriented guy in the picture, especially one of Robinson's caliber. Having said that, we still need Woodcroft to go back to the video room and hire another AC, but somehow I suspect that isn't happening...
