Who needs Suter? Come on down Demers.
I think this hiring could be very good for Burns, Vlasic, Braun, and Demers. All are in critical stages of development. Demers especially.

PollakOnSharks 3:20pm via Web Dan Boyle on Larry Robinson as new #sjsharks associate coach: "Everybody thinks the game differently, as players, as coaches . . .

PollakOnSharks 3:21pm via Web . . . . It’s another brain to pick at and listen to I think it’s going to help the players, I think it’s going to help Todd."

PollakOnSharks 3:22pm via Web
More Boyle on Robinson as #sjshark associate coach: "What he’s done speaks for itself, both as a player and as a coach. He’s had success"

hell yes, he was just in the finals as an assistant and has 6 cups as one of the all time great defenseman - who better to learn from as an NHL D. You could argue that the Devils overachieved last season, perhaps do to his coaching in this area...

I wouldn't want to be on the other side of that debate.

TSN staff report

Appears to be like one year contract with mutual option for a second year.

Any chance this is why dw has been quiet on the market? Wants Robinson to have input on trades?

I smell a rebound season and a ton of development for Jason.

This is a great move, really good to have a defense-oriented guy in the picture, especially one of Robinson's caliber. Having said that, we still need Woodcroft to go back to the video room and hire another AC, but somehow I suspect that isn't happening...

No, I don't think so.

While I asked DW once, and confirmed that players do not get asked for input, I would not be surprised about coaches having some input.

But I think DW has a deadline (for Nash) and a list of who he's interested in signing/trading for.

"Stubbs also added that Robinson admitted via phone to being impressed by Sharks head coach Todd McLellan."

I'm not even gonna act like I know who Larry Robinson is, but judging by the reactions of others I take it this is a good move.

Best move of the offseason. Talk about nailing the best assistant coach option possible.

Might also help us with free agents. Too bad it's too late to help with parise or Suter.

Also you have to think dw plans to make some moves with only 1 year of robinson assured.
