It will command Simon Despres/Joe Morrow + roster player, and possibly more at the very least

It's too difficult for the Pens to get Ryan now we've dealt Staal, the best or 2nd best piece in the Ryan trade needs to be someone who can contribute significantly now (i.e top 4 dman/top 6 forward) and Pens don't have that.

Unless we are directly flipping Sutter (poor boy would get whiplash), we are not in the Ryan sweepstakes. Which is to say, that we are not in the Ryan sweepstakes IMHO.

It's going to take Despres to be in that deal for it to be even considered.

Simon Despres, Eric Tangradi + Brooks Orpik + pick

Bobby Ryan.

Can't see the Pena being able to get Ryan without sending a talented roster forward as well as one of despres/morrow +

A number of their prospects that don't work into their plans isn't gonna get it done

A deal for Bobby Ryan is not going to consist of a bunch of players who most people have never heard of...

They're hardly unknowns, Harrington was on Canada's World Junior team and Dumoulin was on the US World Junior team in 2011 and was a Hobey Baker finalist.

The problem with Harrington and Dumoulin is that they are not NHL ready and defensemen. That's why I don't expect Anaheim to take them for Ryan.
They "work into our plans" just fine though. We only acquired one of them 2 weeks ago FFS, we are not quite over him yet.

Every player who has ever played for a world junior team has gone on to become an impact NHLer.

This is awful.

Typical HF scraps for stars proposals.

Egh I'm not a very good at "valuing players" as far as trades go. I just decided to give it a whirl.

Pens don't have a talented Roster forward to give, Crosby, Malkin and Neal obviously are off limits and that leaves Sutter who I doubt is the type of forward they're looking for.

Where did I say that they were going to be impact NHLers or were bust proof? I was just pointing out they weren't that unknown.

Like I said Pens don't have the pieces to get it done. Anaheim needs a 2nd line centre around Ryan's age, a Despres level prospect, another not quite as good as prospect + 1st for Ryan.

Pens don't have the pieces available the Ducks are looking for. Nothing to see here, let's move along.

I think, Sutter would be exactly who they'd want. Young, cheap, center. There are obviously better targets for them in the league, but he is the best fit from the Pens roster.

I'm sure they'd like to have a guy like Sutter but I think they'd want someone with more offensive upside as the main piece in the trade. Unfortunately I think Philly make the most sense as trading partners.
