They are just going to go with the Q/Kitch duo. Fun times ahead!

With all the FA frenzy, this issue is flying under the radar. An acquaintance who is a huge Hab fab told me (not sure of the truth) that Larry Robinson's contract in NJ has expired and Canadians are going after him. I hope the Hawks do the same. We need him or someone similar who can mentor the defence.

Reports are that San Jose got Robinson who should have been on our radar, for sure. We always are a step behind.

To be honest - and I'm generally not a pessimist at all but can't avoid it on this topic - I don't think it matters at all who eventually gets that assistant spot. Kitchen has already proven himself to be utterly incompetent and by all appearances Quenneville is too... considering anything Kitchen does with the team naturally requires Q's stamp of approval.

Reports also said he wanted to be close to his grandkids in California.

In fact, a month ago, it seemed like he would leave NJ behind to move out there, so great move on SJ's part to let him accomplish his family goal and give him a meaningful hockey position at the same time.
