Understand where your coming from, but Remember Drury was brought in to also be a 1st line player and leading scorer. Doan would be a second or third liner, to add to our depth.
That's fine and dandy I'm not worried about his production I'm worried about his body giving out. I mean production wise if he was on the 3rd line putting up 50 pts great, but not for 5m a year.

Hes a 50 point player now and trending downward. No way I touch those figures on a 35+ contract.
Regarding his heart/soul/intangibles/whatever other crap, I dont care. This team has enough of that. They need skill, creativity, and goal scoring prowess.
Detroit, Pitt, Philly, Rangers, LA, Carolina, and Toronto
Detroit? Not trading within division. Pitt? Are they offering neal? Carolina not giving up skinner..LA? Didn't hear that one.. philly already said they moved on, not giving up schenn or courtier. In the end it will either be SJ, NYR or CBJ
There's a lot of hate for Nash here, but obviously Sather is being patient and waiting for the right deal. If he can get it, then Nash is a home run. A little talent around him, and I think he'll quickly become a fan favorite.
I like Doan, but watch some team jump the gun and give him 4 years - NO THANKS
in 2 years we'll be looking back at this post and shaking our heads.
If we make a trade for Nash we will be having a new thread everyday, titled "Boyle needs to be on the 4th line" or " why can't our third line of Hagelin Boyle Pyatt score"
how can people not like avery...? he fed stepan pucks like a boss. he really wanted that kid scoring goals. the guy screwed us over half the time, but he and step def had some chemistry. on the hatty he had the shot and gave the puck to step anyway

I'm not even sure San Jose is on the list, much like Carolina and Ottawa weren't.
Basically Staal + Stepan for Skinner. Do we do that?
Uhhh no

Ding, ding, ding! Couldn't agree more.
I agree with you as well, if it's 5 mill I'm not interested. At that point I have no problem going for mueller, kostitsyn, Huselius, or sykora for 3rd line depth

Hmmm. Sounds like last year
Or how about "last year in the playoffs it was Richards line or bust.... Now we have two number 1 lines."
I can't stomach another playoff when Brian Boyle is the closest thing we have to a secondary scoring option...

Somebody better tell his mother that the fact he hasn't changed since high school, while redeeming to her is not going to be a good quality for long

Well you've at least partially answered your own question.
In one of those tedious trade threads on the main board there was a writer, maybe Portzline who said Nash would accept a trade to Carolina.
Ahhhhh well it was Portzline himself who said Nash wouldn't so it's either another flip flop by Portzline or someone on the main boards has their facts messed up. Outside possibility that I'm mistaken, but I highly doubt that. Maybe I'll dig through his tweets.
