28 points at age 20 too hard to comprehend? Vanek has had bad years but he averages more than that IN GOALS alone.

*And yes Tavares > Vanek and Duchene

he came back from a busted ankle to soon, and messed it up again...

it's cool... everyone hear knows you've almost never seen him play now... that's how idiotic your position is.

somehow, someone just needs to make feaster their gm for a day, and then regier can call and be like, "hey buddy, wanna give us the avs struggling, never gonna live up to his potential, oft injured center for thomas vanek?"

ironic... since tavares rookie and 2nd years... are practically identical to duchene's

09/10
tavares 54
duchene 55

10/11
tavares 67
duchene 67

11/12
duchene major injury

so basically, your entire opinion of duchene is based on an injury plagued year... brilliant

The same guy who complains we don't have any proven center now wants us to trade Vanek for another unproven center. Great we get a third scoring center who then is forced to play with subpar wingers because with Vanek gone we have Pommer and Staf as legit scoring threats. You can't run 3 scoring lines without the wings to support it. Would it be that terrible to find out what out young players are capable of before we start shipping out all the vets?

I could care less what everyone "hear" thinks. We'll just have to wait and see who is wrong.... simple as that.... not like we're going to change each other's opinion.

This is funny, because Avs fans - you know, the people who actually watch their team regularly - are hesitant to trade Stastny because they're unsure whether Duchene can step in and be a # 1 Center. But what do they know?

Actually no.... see I'm basing MOST of my argument on that 28 points last year..... Tavares scored 31 goals last year and is more talented that Duchene.

If Regier landed Duchesne for Vanek, it'd be proof that he really is "Darth Regier," the sith lord of the NHL.

they were playing at completely different levels of competition at that age, and even when vanek got into the league, he was playing against weaker competition...duchene's ankle was messed up for most of last year...there's probably more that could be said but it's not worth the effort to argue with you

Hey Jame do you want to bet that Vanek's PPG is higher than Duchene's PPG next? Since Duchene is already more talented this should be a no brainer right? Just name the terms

If I was Regier, and the Avs GM offered up Duchesne for Vanek, after accepting, I'd need to excuse myself for a few minutes to go wipe the little bit of pee that came out.

The fact there's a debate here astounds me. Trade a guy who will be gone in two years for a 21-year-old center with three years of NHL experience that you could lock up for years? Um, where do I sign my name to that one?

nah...
i am interested in your current opinion of myers... coming off an injury plagued season at 22 yrs old, you must be willing to trade him for a proven top pairing defensemen like matt carle or dan girardi right?

Shhhh. Don't bring logic into this. We need 5 young, unproven centers that might be awesome 3-5 years from now.......And 0 wingers because Armia can be quadruple shifted.

With Vanek gone we don't have 3 scoring lines anymore. We have pommers and FES. Hodgson plays with Leino and Gerbe? Gross. FES get to see Chara and Boychuk more? Gross. AND there still isn't a single experienced center on the roster. There's no balance and it's set to fail before it even takes the ice.
