Marty Turco

Will he continue playing? Possibly back up Rask this year?

If he signs in St. Louis or Phoenix, he'd be a dynamo, but they don't need him... unfortunately, so I think its time for him to call it a career, he wouldn't be a bad goalie coach.

He had a few bad games, but also had a few good games.

Highly doubt he comes back to Boston...

Khudo will probably be our backup

Marty Turco 2011-2012 game log

Where are these 'good games' you speak of?

He was pulled in 2 of his 5 starts, and allowed 5 goals in a 3rd. He allowed 3 goals on 22 shots in another.

The Anaheim game was his only game where he pitched a "quality start"..

A goalie gets a Quality Start if he posts an above average median save % of .913 or allows 2 goals or less. Teams win approx. 75% of these games. It can be considered a win (W).

He sucked for the B's last year, don't want him and don't need him.

I doubt anyone signs him anytime soon. He might get an offer towards the end of the year like last year but even then I think he is done and should be put out to pasture.

In fairness to Turco, he was signed with what, 2 weeks to go in the year? He was playing his first NHL games of the season while most guys were playing their 70th. Not surprising he was rusty as all hell.

Turco isn't a big goalie and his strength was always his athleticism. Once he started to show his age/decline physically his level on play dropped off.

What exactly happened to Turco? At one point he was one of the best goalies in NHL, I believe.

He's a great mentor, so he probably would be good at helping a young netminder find their confidence and skill if he was their backup. Unfortunately, as others have said, his skill's sliding due to age, so probably not.

That being said, would not at all be surprised to see him as a goalie coach in the very near future.

Like I said. He's lost the athleticism that made him good.
