(And even in the Kovy trade, he didn't let go of much value)
Nash I do not want at all. This is how I feel about him. 1 He's no better than Parise. 2 We'd have to give up at least a finger of everyone who is on our team to get him if not two fingers. 3 After depleting our roster by whatever ridiculous demands they ask for we have to pay him a cap hit of almost $8 million a year for the next 6 years.

This is another reason I say we'll get better value out of Gionta. Almost $3 million less a year, and he's probably good for maybe 10-20 points less a year tops than Nash right now, and possibly with 2 years left to go on Nash's contract he will be only as good as Brian Gionta when he gets that age if not as good. Nash is a very good player, but playing on the Blue Jackets all these years you wonder if he would be any better playing on a better team? Or only as good?

I wouldn't trade Greene, he and Salvador are our two best D imo

Tallinder or Volch, for Hemsky straight up

Ive never been a fan of players that sign contracts and then demand to be traded. That goes for all players in all sports with very few exceptions.

If you dont want to play for a team, dont sign a contract or wait it out like a man.

This is something I can get behind, although I'm not sure how the Oilers value Hemsky. He did just re-sign with them, and they probably want him and Smyth around to mentor their superstar youngsters.

Could it be that he is sick of hearing his name in trade rumors? He didn't demand a trade until recently I believe and he only wants out because Anaheim's management seem to view him as expendable. If you kept being dangled as bait, I'm sure you'd be upset too.

Are you guys kidding me? Our D is finally showing signs of improving and stability, so let's trade them?

Wow.

That, and we have enough D depth that we can afford to trade Tallinder. Worst comes to worst we have a couple in the A who can step in. With Sal I feel comfortable letting Tallinder go.

It's the numbers game. Too may bodies, and enough youth coming up that we can safely trade away some depth to address other needs.

I think it's quite the opposite.

He signed a multi-year deal in order to stay in Anaheim but when things aren't going right, it's the "let's trade Bobby Ryan" theme that keeps coming up and to make it worst, his boss isn't actually denying those rumors.

It kind of sucks being the scapgoat every single time when ***** isn't going your way and that's why he's saying "either trade me or shut the **** up about moving me... but make up your mind a.s.a.p.".

That's how I see his situation.

When you have a surplus of NHL talent at one position and you're lacking at another, you make trades to balance out your lineup, don't you not?

Echoing others...

If we count Harrold as strictly a #7 guy, we have seven NHL-caliber defencemen, none of whom is going to be doing any good sitting in a press box. It would be silly not moving one to improve our team. Tallinder was out when we got Zidlicky. Now Tallinder is back and apparently doing fine, and Zidlicky's still here. We need to move someone. It's a great opportunity.

I want a young forward with skill. Hemsky is close to 30 and his injury record will only get worse. Get Pajaarvi, I think he can turn it around here.

I would love to get Pajaarvi. I haven't watched him too often but when I did I was very impressed with his skating.

One D-man is guaranteed to be injured at some point and carrying 7 isn't an unusual thing. So, stick one or two in the AHL and call it a day.

Who are you going to trade? I just don't see it...

Don't forget there's Urbom and Gelina who might make the big squad next year

With our logjam on D, I doubt either of them play much this year barring significant injuries to other defensemen.

I'd trade Tallinder if we could get something. I thought it was assumed we would wind up trading one right after Salvador was re signed? Gelinas, and Urbom will not make the team out of camp no way. Though if there are injuries they will definitely see some call up time just like Urbom did last season.

If Urbom, or Gelinas, or Burlon, or who-knows-who-else, plays their way onto the team, injuries and/or Lou will find a way to create space for them. I'm guessing Lou pulls the trade trigger at that time. Not before training camp.

Knowing our luck, if we trade a d-man, other d-men will start to go down with injuries. But I agree, it would be great if we could use one to get a useful forward at this point.

I like MPS. Oilers fans got down on him too quickly, and with all their other high end young forwards he gets lost in the shuffle.

The only one it makes sense to put in the AHL is Larsson, and it doesn't look like that will happen.
