OT: MTS Centre to host preseason NBA game
Well, True North is holding a press conference to announce details about the "NBA Canada" series, so I'm assuming that the Raptors will play a preseason game here. Anyone with connections to TNSE happen to know who the opponent will be? And do Jets season ticket holders/waiting list members get dibs for tickets?

Cool stuff. Is the press conference scheduled for today?
Even though I'm a bigger fan of college hoops than NBA, I'll probably check this out. Never been to a live NBA game before.

The press conference is set for tomorrow. Can't remember what time. Just heard them talking about it on Hot 103 this morning on the way to work.

They know we're awesome. I think this marks the 4th, maybe 5th time the NBA has had a game here in Winnipeg. I went to the last Raptors/Blazers game they had here a few years back. It was actually my first time at the MTS Centre too.

I certainly hope not.
The game may be worth attending, depending upon the opponent.

Very interesting! The Raptors usually play a preseason game in Canada outside of Toronto.
It would be neat if the Raptors weren't involved.. maybe the Timberwolves?

The Raptors played a pre-season game in Winnipeg at MTSC before, didn't they?
I might be thinking of the Winnipeg Arena though.

The raptors played games in both buildings. I think the last one was in 05 against the blazers.

Don't the folks in P1 sections have the right of first refusal on any events held in the MTSC? I thought that was one of the key selling points for those seats during drive to 13,000? I may be wrong -- anyone know this?

this is true as a P1 Season ticket holder we play 500 dollars a year to be "club members" any concerts or sports related shows at the MTSC we get first dibbs on the tickets

Hey guys, its cool that the NBA is doing this. A lot of preseason games are exciting as the athletes seem wired to be competitive.
Here's one example from a preseason game in London, England.

Laugh all you want, but ~15 years ago I'm sure I saw a Hawks / (TWolves?) pre-season game at the old Winnipeg Arena.

According to Ticketmaster, ticket prices for the game range from $19.50 to $199.50.

There are pretty good players I want to see on every NBA team except for maybe 4-5 teams. Unfortunately, the Pistons are one of those teams. Not one exciting player on that roster. And it's too bad that Rubio from the T-wolves will still be injured. I drove down to see the Celtics play the T-wolves and missed out on him there too.
Glad to see there are some hoops fans here.

My interest just completely disappeared after they announced these two teams. I was looking forward to getting an early look at Valanciunas. Instead we get the Pistons/Wolves minus Rubio... no thanks.

The Pistons suck but I'll still go to this. Check out Love, Drummond, Monroe and a bunch of former semi stars
