Mancari was a top 10 goal scorer in the AHL the past 2 years, he is an AMAZING AHL pick up who is already familliar with and was successful on the team.
I've always wondered about people's inability to understand that an NHL team has to sign depth players for the farm club. Strange.

I just remember the arena getting jacked cause a guy like him was out there and doing something helpful for the team and no one really expected it ( I believe the sabres were trying to clinch in those few games right?)
Solid signing. Roch needs him, and he can fill in fine in an injury role. I still think there's a 5% chance he could start scoring at the big-league level. Like a super-late blooming Matt Moulson.

Well said! Those types of comments about Mancari are just par for the course for the clueless. As has been said, solid depth AHL signing. Approve.
I definitely see this as a decent signing for the AHL. No doubt that Mancari can score. I am just always a little skeptical about clubs re-signing players that didn't pan out in the past. That said, i have not followed him since he left the club, so i am not sure where he is career wise...

He did pan out for the Pirates though. He didn't pan out as an NHLer but there's 0 expectations in that regard with this signing. He may not be the absolute most desirable AHL winger but he's clearly one of the best AHL scorers.

Or, sometimes people like to joke around during the slow offseason. Stop taking things so seriously.
Hopefully we don't hear any diplomatic statements from Regier or Ruff about how Mancari will get a shot to make the Sabres....
Let's snuff out his hopes and dreams. Take away the goal he's been working for years to realize. We'll get a great effort from him in Rochester. I'm sure Mancari realizes as well as anyone that his chances of making the NHL are slim.
Has Mark made any comments about the signing? Is he resigned to the fact that he's just a great AHLer? I'm a bit surprised he would come back here when there must be some teams out there who would give him a legitimate shot at making the NHL.
