I lived in Calgary for 2 years, I've watched him MORE than enough - perhaps it is him playing on BAD team(s) for years.... most people, like myself think he isn't as good as he looks - and that contract is gross.... BUT, he CAN skate and pass the puck.... never been in the playoffs (not that means anything), and plays a ton of minutes.....

I've always said he sucks b/c he hasn't ever shown great things while watching him play. He is better than Carle on the D side - but not by much... so take it for what it's worth.

At this point, while I know D is the focus.... I say we go with what we got and take a run @ Weber in the NEXT offseason....

Edit: my Flames friends would trade him for a bag of pucks.... haha...

I remember hearing that if the Flyers weren't able to land Suter they might go after Tim Gleason. Is this still on the table?

I quit when you said he isn't better than Carle by all that much.

No. When Gleason signed his extension, he also got a no trade clause.

Id be willing to make a deal for jbo if we aren't able to get weber before the season starts (unlikely anyway). Because we still may be able to to make the space to sign him next year when timonen likely retires. You could trade Mez and role with

Weber-Bouwmeester
Coburn-Grossmann
Bourdon-Gustafsson

That has the potential to be a great d corps especially if Gus and Bourdon develop further this season.

No clue right now. Sure there are additions I would like to see. Lets talk after training camp.
