Dupuis was in Stratford last season playing junior B and seemed to put up good numbers. Will be interesting to see how the goaltending situation works out

Fair point. Wrong on that one.

My biggest fear with the Wolves is that they seem to put way to much focus on local kids, not necessarily the best kids. I just hope they allow the best player to win the job, which based on the background, is Chartrand.

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you would know as to why Campagna didn't get drafted by an NHL team. I heard he is very skilled and seems to be a good player. Also, do you think it would be motivation for him to prove himself this year and possibly go somewhere in the late 1st round to the mid 2nd round.

Usually need to give it more then 4 hours on a Friday in July. Just a quick heads up.

Campagna's lack of development has been beaten to death in this thread already.

To answer it yet again, He has not really developed since Minor Midget.

He struggled with injuries, and is not a physical player. Alot of fans may want to put it on the coach, but the kid has not shown alot of depth to his game. He makes the same plays that he made with the Young Nationals, without adding a new element. Motivation has never need an issue, its been strength and a lack of personal development.

While I'm not an NHL scout or GM I can't give a real answer, jus sepculation.

And I'm in agreement with Tigers. Campagna's season was stalled by injuries. And while other players like Reilly and Galchenyuk where drafted high with limited playing, they were already ranked very high before the season started, if I'm not mistaken Campagna was ranked in the 120's somewhere...if you are ranked there and have an injury plauged season, and still didn't look all that great in the games you DID play, there are several other players that you would draft.

If Campagna shows significant inprovment this season, he'll have a chance at the draft again, and if he doesn't get drafted next year someone can always sign him as a free agent like San Jose did with Sgarbossa.

Rangers defenceman Even McEneny is another good example, he was ranked in early season rankings as well but was limited just two games last season and didn't get drafted. McEneny even had the 'LV' (limited viewing) rating like Galchenyuk did for most of the rankings that came out.

Not sure how they will decide who goes over to Russia for the pre-season tourny. My guess 13 forwards, 7 defence, 3 goalies go over.

Forward depth:

Kantor 92
Schoenmakers 92
Leivo 93
Racino 93
Thibodeau 93
Lacroix 93
Campagna 94
Silk 94
Pancel 94
Schutt 94
Baptiste 95
Harris 95
Kubalik 95
Kahun 95
Desrochers 95
Spicer 95
Vilardi 96
Burgess 96

Defence depth:

Dodero 92
Hanes 92
Corrado 93
Sefton 93
Braid 93
Corbett 94
Prong 94
Dehaan 95
Cummins 96

Goalie depth:

Vienneau 92
Chantrand 93
Dupuis 94
O'Neil 94

Can anyone speculate on the starting line up for the season with defence pairings and line combinations?

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Dupuis get the backup role. He's a '94 with high potential. He was stellar with the Cullitons in the GOJHL this season. Nearly stole the starters job at one point.

"I do have pairs of seats available in both sections 3 and 5. In section 3, I have a pair of seats available in rows A-G, K and N and in section 5 I have a pair of seats available in rows A-F and M-N. It just depends on how high up your son would like to sit. Row A is closest to the ice."

What would be best?

Not sure if you're looking for opinions judging by the initial quote.
But I like sitting towards the net where the wolves shoot twice (section 3) will give you the better view in the 1st and 3rd, since the wolves shoot that way.
I also like sitting above the side glass, around row G or higher (but you have to watch if you sit in the last row or 2, since there are beams that could obstruct your view)

Sudbury Arena

Don't sit low in sec 3. That is where the penalty box is and it will obstruct your view.

Probably best between F and J in sec 3.

I think sec 5 is behind the Wolves bench. You don't want to be low there either.

We went with Section 3 - Row G. Thanks for the information!

You'll have good seats there. My old season tickets were in Sec 2 row F and they were great.

Yep...have to assume that this is not their start of season team - again too many. Maybe they will make some cuts but don;t think it will be him. I think OA's will need to be released or traded before start of season but once again they will start the season with too many players.

I get that they will wait to see what NHL does but the OA's they have are not real impact players anyway, but they will only be able to dress so many in Russia anyway.

I think the goalie battle will be Vienneau vs Chantrand for the starters job and Dupuis in the backup roll? Any thoughts.

Heard a rumour that all is not well in Nickeltown. Quite the uproar over this year's draft picks. Supposedly Head Scout has resigned over choices made. Can anyone clear up the air???

Robert had major differences with Burgess (Team owner) about using a 2nd and 4th to trade for a 3rd and select a player (owners son) rated in the 12th. He quit right after the draft. I often speak with 5 different scouts and none of them had C. Burgess on their list. This puts undo pressure on Cull and the kid. I think the Wolves will be sellar dwellers this year.

He was rated as a B level prospect by OHL Central Scouting, which suggests a 6-10th round selection. 5th round would have been the earliest he should have been selected. I would have had him in the 8-9th round personally

Norm Robert did indeed quit after the Draft. Look for the Wolves to annonuce a new head scout in the next week.

Actually if you look at their other draft picks, he is not the only question mark. Either the management totally ignored scouting reports or their scouts did not do their homework. Unless some diamond in the rough comes out of this draft look for a couple of long winters in nickeltown.

So I'm assuming they met up with their imports already in Russia

Has it been confirmed they are both coming over next season?
