You'd think fans would learn.....doing that only fires up our players to score and shove the puck down their throats.

This. I'm going to enjoy this upcoming season and enjoy watching the young players and prospect develop more and kovalchuk score more goals than parise. However, the future worries me.

This has been a rough end to a season, and I'm not exactly a huge fan of everyone on here doing a complete 180 and constantly trashing Parise now, no reason to stay bitter. With that being said, this really was a great season, it was up and down at times this year, and I never really knew what to expect. I wasn't even sure they were going to make it out of the first round, and to move on in double ot, then beating two divisional rivals on the way to the finals was sweet. Everyone was calling a sweep for the Flyers due to the fact that they just finished stomping Pittsburgh and the devils barely squeaked by the panthers, but the devils turned them on their ass. Then going on to eliminate the Rangers while they were having their best season in a long time; those were two very memorable series wins. Best the Devils have had in a long time.
So while the ending has been disappointing, this was still a great year. Players move on, teams take hits, but they'll bounce back. They usually find a way.

I'm happy to say I trashed parise in the playoffs too.
Still wished he returned though

Gonna be honest. This makes me feel a bit worse. How many times was the name that was called immediately before "Kovalchuk scars!" Parise? I know, they played on the same line, but damn did he create a lot of those chances Kovy got. Good thing is I think Zach is easier to replace than Kovy, but it's still gonna be tough.

I watched "Heaven" while riding the stationary bike just now and that basically opens with Matteau's goal.
All I did was laugh and said aloud, "**** you. We got your son and HENRIQUE! IT'S OVER!!"
True story. Then I watched the Henrique video. Makes an hour on the bike go by really quickly.

I find it so hard to watch the celebration after the Henrique goal. Everything with Zach seems so phony.

Exactly. Henrique is something trully special. Parise was just overhyped skilled player.

On the outside, Zach was cheering but on the inside he was saying "Can we get eliminated already? I want to get out of this dump"
What a joke of a player.....and a person.

It's too early to say he will be better than Parise, but he already has more clutch goals than Parise, that's for sure.

I do wish he would have came back but after seeing how well he performed in the finals I would never sign him to the contract that he ended up inking. Kovalchuk could barely skate, so I can see why he would have trouble producing. Parise puts up one stinkin' goal, what's his excuse?

Any idea where the 2000 Devils/Stars SCF video can be watched online? I own Heaven on VHS, and the 2003 DVD, but I cant find that 2000 one anywhere..
*edit* somehow the qoute got messed up when posting from my tablet.

As a Ranger fan, I am still wondering why game 6 of the 2012 ECF hasn't played out yet.
Stupid Bettman.

We don't have to look back at any of the memorable moments from these playoffs and think about Zach
He wasn't a part of any of them

Now I'm so glad Zach DIDN'T have any signature goals in the postseason, and that his biggest goal ever wasn't even in a Devils uniform. Like someone else said Doc's call would have been ruined forever if it was 'PARISE! IT'S OVER!' as opposed to Henrique.
