Markov

Do you think that the Preds will bring him back next season or do you expect him to jump ship being an UFA this off season?

I think he will be gone via free agency.

I think either Markov or Witt will be resigned, I'd lean toward Witt.

I agree and I'd rather have Witt over Markov. However, both are great defensemen in their own right.

Before the Witt trade, I would have said no way to losing Markov. But now, I think he'll be let go and we'll work in some of our younger guys next year. It would also free up a spot for Weber to become a regular next year.

Timonen (*) - Witt
Hamhuis - Weber
Eaton OR Suter - Zidlicky (*)

(*) = possible trade-bait in the off-season?

Waiting in the wings: Klein, Zanon, Parent, etc.

IMO Klein should be ready for NHL duty in 06-07 or could be used as trade bait.

For some reason, I expect Kimmo Timonen to spend most of his career in Nashville. And that doesn't mean I expect him to have a short career in the NHL. I see him as a franchise player.

Anyhoo...

Since he is 31 and has spent 7 seasons in Nashville, I'd say it's a good bet he spends most of his career here.

I hope Kimmo stays here. He's a lot better defensman than we sometimes give him credit for.
