I don't think you've seen Clendening play enough if you think he'll be replacing Leddy any time soon.. maybe on the PP, but not at even-strength.
I never said soon. Both are young and neither are close to being ready for major roles on this team. When they get forced in to roles like Leddy has been, we see the results. One and done.

Which is why I said I don't think you've seen very much of Clendening if you think he'll be replacing Leddy anytime soon.
Clendening will never be the skater or puck-rusher that Leddy already is, at 21. Dylan Olsen and Stephen Johns are both bigger, more physical versions of Hjalmarsson.. it's far more likely one of them replaces Hammer than Clendening replaces Leddy.

Nope. I will see a lot of him in Rockford very soon though. I've heard all the reports about his defense badly needing work. I don't think anyone would expect him to be the skater that Nick Leddy is. Of course, there's a lot more to being a good PMD than just skating.

Yeah, there is. From the point, on the PP, Clendening is a much better playmaker than Leddy.. but 5-on-5, he's not close to as effective a PMD as Leddy is because he doesn't have the skating (Puck-rushing) ability and both Leddy and Clendening are very good at making transition passes.. but it's the skating that sets them apart on the rush/5-on-5.
I see Clendening being a #5 Dman who QB's a top PP unit.. simular to a M-A Bergeron without the booming shot. Leddy has a chance to be a very well-rounded Dman because of his skating.
Since I'm in Quebec, I don't have any Hawks (or any other team not named "Canadiens") news so I'm trying to follow everything concerning my favorite team and I thought HockeyBuzz was a reliable site! Haha!
After reading you guys, I guess I'll just use HFBoards and follow everything about the Hawks!
Yeah, there's no chance Kane gets moved.. especially not for that package. It's probably best to just not give any thought to Hawk rumors involving any player.. they're always wrong. Why? Because Chicago runs one of the tightest ships in the NHL. People can "speculate" all they want on what's going to happen, but until it actually does, it's just that; speculation.
