I don't think you've seen Clendening play enough if you think he'll be replacing Leddy any time soon.. maybe on the PP, but not at even-strength.

I never said soon. Both are young and neither are close to being ready for major roles on this team. When they get forced in to roles like Leddy has been, we see the results. One and done.

Which is why I said I don't think you've seen very much of Clendening if you think he'll be replacing Leddy anytime soon.

Clendening will never be the skater or puck-rusher that Leddy already is, at 21. Dylan Olsen and Stephen Johns are both bigger, more physical versions of Hjalmarsson.. it's far more likely one of them replaces Hammer than Clendening replaces Leddy.

Nope. I will see a lot of him in Rockford very soon though. I've heard all the reports about his defense badly needing work. I don't think anyone would expect him to be the skater that Nick Leddy is. Of course, there's a lot more to being a good PMD than just skating.

Yeah, there is. From the point, on the PP, Clendening is a much better playmaker than Leddy.. but 5-on-5, he's not close to as effective a PMD as Leddy is because he doesn't have the skating (Puck-rushing) ability and both Leddy and Clendening are very good at making transition passes.. but it's the skating that sets them apart on the rush/5-on-5.

I see Clendening being a #5 Dman who QB's a top PP unit.. simular to a M-A Bergeron without the booming shot. Leddy has a chance to be a very well-rounded Dman because of his skating.

I hope Clendening has learned not to use his weak ass wrister from the point that killed the powerplay every time in the WJC.

Since I'm from Quebec, I hear a LOT about the Montreal Canadiens, of course.

I heard today, from a friend, that Patrick Kane & Nicklas Hjalmarsson could go to MTL for PK Subban and Tomas Plekanec.

I was kind of shocked and surprised! But I was more shocked and surprised when I saw John Jaeckel's blog with the same rumor...

Is this guy reliable? Could this be real?

I sure hope not. Don't want to trade Kane.

I enjoy reading Jaeckel's blogs, but the rumors always seem to be wrong. At least the ones I've seen.

There's a decent chance that Hammer's on the trade block, but there is absolutely, positively no chance that Kane is.

I can't imagine the Hawks ever agreeing to a trade like that. Also, if JJ talks about it's then it's quite certain to be untrue.

So I guess John Jaeckel is another Eklund: unreliable.

I'm still wondering why those websites are still online if they are full of ****.

Because in the middle of summer, people will take any hockey story they can find.

Because traffic hits generated by made up bull**** bring in just as much money as the same amount of traffic hits by legitimate stories.

Yeah pretty much.

I checked out JJ's article. After the first sentence, I knew to stop reading:

I'm chasing down the validity of a rumor this morning involving the Hawks and the Montreal Canadiens, first reported yesterday by Eklund.

If there is any chance for it to be real I think they must at least have the wrong Patrick.

JJ sucks...

Kane won't get traded for the 1000th time. Price was offered and Bowman turned it down. I read that somewhere before Price signed his new contract

Oh well, I never "followed" the offseason really.

Since I'm in Quebec, I don't have any Hawks (or any other team not named "Canadiens") news so I'm trying to follow everything concerning my favorite team and I thought HockeyBuzz was a reliable site! Haha!

After reading you guys, I guess I'll just use HFBoards and follow everything about the Hawks!

Yeah, there's no chance Kane gets moved.. especially not for that package. It's probably best to just not give any thought to Hawk rumors involving any player.. they're always wrong. Why? Because Chicago runs one of the tightest ships in the NHL. People can "speculate" all they want on what's going to happen, but until it actually does, it's just that; speculation.

Well, be careful, because according to this site we've been on the verge of firing Bowman for over a year.

Oh, and do yourself a favor and take anything you see over on the trade boards with a mountain of salt.
