Habs top 6 Package

I am just curious what kind of top 6 can we get with this package?

CGY's 2nd Rounder
Diaz
Y. Weber
Blake Geoffrion

when I look at all these players they are all NHL ready that would be good depth moves and with montreal having so much depth in defense they can offend to trade two of them to get a top 6 guy

here is the players I looked at that would work with us

Jamie McGinn+
Kris Versteeg (with florida having so many great prospects they can offend to trade him with the right price)
Brandon Saad (I know we would have to add a little)
Nino Niederreiter (with the Islander needing so depth on defense they got a good top 4 this trade would put them over the top on defense)

just a few players I like

I don't think you'd get Niederreiter or Saad for that to be honest, not really sure about Versteeg, but probably not him either.

No one will trade anything valuable for that sad package.

I don't see the point in putting Weber and Diaz in the same package. *If* there's a team out there looking for an undersized depth PMD (and in reality, most teams have a prospect/suspect of their own in this category), then they certainly aren't going to be interested in picking up TWO of them.

I also don't see how Saad or Niederreiter qualify as top-6 forwards. Hopefully they will be one day. But if we want to just try to shoe-horn a prospect into the role, we don't need to try to trade for somebody, we could just use one of our own guys.

Three fringe NHLers and a 2nd round pick.........?

If Versteeg was on your team would you trade him for this nonsense?

How many of these threads are you going to make?

There's already one on the first page of the forum:

Diaz and Weber aren't going to put anyone 'over the top' on defence, otherwise you wouldn't be so desperate to get rid of them.

The answer to what kind of top six player you can get with the kind of assets you are offering is one that no-one wants. Think overpaid underacheiving reclamation project.

Maybe his goal is to have a first page of just his threads?

And no team will trade a top-6 forward for those players listed, package or not.

Quantity does not equal quality 'heath'

Also, both Diaz & Geoffrion are not signed. So really really really unlikely someone will part with a top-6 forward for them. Unless someone mistakenly thinks Blake can produce as much as his grandfather or great-grandfather.

Looking forward to reading your next three proposals later today.

Indeed. This is just throwing all the Habs' spare parts into a pile and seeing if any team wants to make them their spare parts.

I don't think I'd be willing to trade Reaves for that

But Montreal's spare parts are worth so much more then any other team's spare parts. I mean Montreal can surely get a legitimate top-6 forwards with hands of gold, scores 25 goals guaranteed, built like a tank & hits everything in sight for Y. Weber on the trade market without hesitation.

you might not like the package, but the 2nd has value and Diaz made the rookie all star team and has a lot of upside

I'm sure you are talking about AHL top 6 ?
And even then not too many teams will be interested

You aren't getting McGinn, let alone a plus for that trash. Maybe you can take Kobasew...

This OP is a troll, all the proposals you have made are terrible. Who the hell would trade a top 6 forward for the package you listed...

Troll isn't the first word that comes to mind...

Seriously, though - there's not much you can get for such a paltry offering. Maybe Chicago would offer up Rusty Olesz. Former top-ten first rounder right there, sick value.
