C'mon let's get real.
Kane is not being traded anytime soon.

He's signed through 2015 and I expect him to be resigned for another long-term deal in about 2 years. You just don't trade players with skill and vision like that because they cannot be replaced.

close this, it's Eklund.

Deal won't go down, Hawks said it more than once that Kane is not available and why should the Habs open 2 holes to fill 1

I think any owner who let his GM trade away a guy like PK Subban isn't really wise. As entertainment and marketing value only, Subban has "jackpot" written all over his face.

Is there a reason why this thread is still open? It's an Eklund rumor being "tracked down" by one of the most unreliable, flip-floppers at HockeyBuzz.

Patrick Kane is not being traded. /thread

Montreal looking for some much needed size up front.

In this case its a wash. Plekanec has a few pounds on Kane but that's about it. Other than that they are both 5'11 and neither of them are known for their physical play.

I'm not looking to turn the focus on this rather trivial consideration, but 20 pounds on two similar 5'11 frames is more than "a few pounds".

True but as i said it doesn't really matter since their games isn't based on physicality. It may make Plekanec a bit more harder to move from the puck but that's about it.

Jaeckel is just as bad as Eklund, if not worse.

This deal is a no from both sides.

As has been said before, any deal involving Kane to Montreal should have Price going the other way, and neither team will ever agree to that.

If the Canadiens trade Subban to Chicago it will be like the Chris Chelios mishap all over again. This rumor is stupid on multiple levels.

Subban is a lot more cute than Kane or Hjarlmarsson.

It make no sense for Montreal

Not many people know (or aknowledge) the fact that Plekanec is built like a tank. His game just isn't about physicality, but his strength and conditioning is very underrated.

And based on this he may be harder to move from the puck than Kane, but it doesn't matter much because Kane can stickhandle and shift the **** out of anyone purely based on his skills!

I don't get why Kane is constantly seen like a midget. He's an inch away from being 6' tall. It's not like he's 5'5 or something.

Somewhere, Bergevin and Bowman are sipping on a pina colada and laughing their arse off reading this forum.

Don't believe it at all. As mentioned the Habs would create a huge hole at center and would lose a guy that has slowly become the heart of the defense. No thanks.

Only thing I could see is Bergevin speaking about Sharp. Other rumour is too awful to even be Eklund quality. Wait did I just say that?

Its a ridiculous rumor from an unreliable (being very polite here) source.

Bergevin said himself the priorities were Price and Subban. He's already signed Price and Subban is next. PK isn't going anywhere.

All due respect to Patrick Kane and Blackhawks fans, he's not what we need in Montreal. We need a Ryane Clowe type forward for our second line.

Montreal says no because it loses them their best d-man, especially with Markov's uncertainty, and destroys their center depth.

Subban won't be traded.

Kane won't be traded unless Subban (at least) comes the other way.

Hence why I don't think this deal will happen. Plus, I really want to hold on Subban. Kane is an elite talent, for sure, but I just think PK has something to his personality, and the talent necessary to become one of the very best defenseman in the league.

Anyone that has read JJ for years know's he has no sources

Hasn't gotten a thing right in forever (If ever) and spends all his time trashing Patrick Kane and making up junk trades involving him
