I'll likely be attending the scrimmage on Sunday, and possibly practice on Saturday. I'll be sure to post updates after.

Be interesting to see how Trevor Van Riemsdyk looks in camp. I think he was in the Ottawa prospect camp last week or was supposed to be.
At least if hes drafted somewhere in the next couple of years he shouldnt have the high expectations his brother did due to his draft status.

Sarah Backier said there are like five family ties at camp this year (JvR's bro, Hatcher's kid, Stevens' kid, Luukko's kid, and I think one more)

I believe Coburn's brother is there as well.

Yeah that was it. Also Kessel's brother, but that isn't the same kind of "family" ties.

Does Boivin have any relation to the "great" Claude Boivin? What a draft that was!

Laughton looked like a pitbull on the one on one drill in front of the net. I just saw a clip on the Flyers site and he was really bringing it.

People are going to love Laughton once he makes it to Philadelphia. I don't know if he'll ever put up numbers like Richards, but he will certainly be one of those players that you want to go to war with. I'd say he's very Sutter like, but maybe a little more intense. I'm liking this pick more and more and more.

Which Sutter? I mean, I think I know which one of them you mean, but there are a few of them to choose from... Or do you mean that he's like a member of the Sutter clan and not one of them specifically?

Just a cut and paste with permission from my e-mail. A friend of mine who works 3 buildings from the facility.

"Yeah I went to the rink for a bit on my lunch. Think they were finishing up though. I didn't see a whole of anything thrilling. Pretty basic cross drills and blue line-ins. Can't really comment too much but here is what I saw.Bradons brother is pretty decent. Not just an invite because of family if you ask me. Laughton plays like Brendon Morrow. Mathers seemed a lot faster and more fluid, but has a long way to go. Leier didn't look like he was 18. Of course its only day 1 and I don't know how hard they were pushed before I made it there. Small crowd, but there were 2 fans there that shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. Planning on going for a few hours later in the week so I'll give you an update then.

I'd say he's a lot like Ron or Brian Sutter. Plays a similar style, but Laughton might be faster and more intense/tenacious on the forecheck. He's going to drive defensemen nuts at the NHL level.

With the success that Couturier had in that spot last year, I would not at all be shocked to see Laughton given a chance at the fourth line center position.

I could see him getting his nine games for sure.

This. Lavvy loves to put responsibility on young guys who can handle it.

Sounds like he will fit right in with the "Flyer Hockey" mode. I to cannot wait for the day he makes the big club. Thanks for the information.

I really hope that doesn't happen. If the Flyers were to send a package like Voracek, Laughton, and a 1st I'd view that as an overpayment. As good as Ryan is now, and would be with Giroux he's not worth 3 1st rounders.
