Just seemed strange since other NCAA guys were going this year.
And I'm with you, although I'm still willing to give Rust the benefit of the doubt with the all-important junior year coming up. I'm not holding my breath, however.
I always wondered why we drafted Rust when quite a few scoring wingers could have been had with the Rust pick. We have enough sand paper tough 3rd liners in our pipeline

I didn't get that pick ever either and I'm still pissed that we didn't pick Pulkkinen.
a) This is 90% an instructional camp
b) There's no fighting at Penguin camps[/QUOTE]
Maybe we aren't drafting/inviting the right players
Seriously though. How do they practice, learn or play when the entire group is made up of high draft pick D-men against unknown forwards? It seems like they should bring in some AHL forwards to get a better sense of how the D-men are developing. Will any goals be scored in the scrimage? I guess most of them are offensive d-men so there should be some goals.. Seems awfully imbalanced is my point, I guess.
Yesss. Let tangradi and jeffrey go for the 9th straight year. Lol. Before anyone gets all deffensive. Just a joke.
Not sure why every thread these days turns into a fighting thread. I thought this was a hockey forum. I don't mind fighting in the game at all, I actually like it but FFS go watch boxing and UFC.
I know the main site will have a blog update and stuff which will be the only place for any off-ice coverage (of which there is a fair amount for this sort of thing). I would think that John Bombulie would be in attendance as well for WBS, but don't know that for sure.
steelcityassault does a good job with it so let him do it. I will write up my own opinion from the scrimmage and post it. It will probably be the next day though since I have a game of my own at 7 pm. I really like the roster.
I believe it also depends on their body size. If Gerbe or Ellis tried to hit as much as Phaneuf then they'd be out of the league in a few seasons. Give them (Pens prospects) time to gain mass like Letang and I'm sure the hitting will pick up a bit.
How physical was Letang in the Q? Serious question.
Not much.. i mean he didnt look like a wimp out there, but he sure wasnt going to investigate a fight. He didnt look big compared to other players. What was standing out was his amazing skating and his playmaking ability.
Who is covering the Giant Eagle nutritional session? I want pictures of prospects hitting on the local milfs in the produce isle. "Hi... I'm Joe. I like melons."
Picture of Morrow doing the vertical leap from the Pens' twitter is pretty funny
Prior to this draft, I also read the old draft preview at downgoesbrown and it said:
Quote:
Joseph Morrow - Had one of the best scores at the combine during the standing vertical jump event, which will no doubt move him up the draft board of all those teams that keep losing games because they can't jump high enough.
