I agree entirely!
That's why I just wanted to put out this imperfect seed of a germ of an idea, and see what you guys come up with.

Let's take a day or 2 and see what combinations of what has to be added, and subtracted, and see if there is a middle ground that could work.

Rosy was just fine.
Bickel gave us a decent year. A bit overmatched when the playoffs came around--it's possible he might get better. There's nothing wrong with the guy throwing his fists when he has to.

Roszival is a bit old. I don't have a problem with us bringing him back per se--but it's going to have to be for cheap. He's not going to be looked to for offense. He would have to contribute in other ways.

That's the gamble you take for the upside.

Getzlaf = enough playmaking ability I can live with that, more importantly, is >>> better scorer.

Perry at cost of Stepan ++ = big scoring upgrade, so I can probably live with, including Anisimov as my #2, IMO you guys too down on him,

What would have to be added?
I fear too much, but that is why I asked you guys for 2nd opinion.

Maybe just minimum Ducks would take is what Rangers can afford to pay... maybe.

Agree. He's fine for us as 7th or emergency/insurance, and can do 4th line LW for us, especially if we move Rupp.

Agree also as to a no; less the age than the knees.

if Phoenix is gonna put people up on the block, we should consider biting the bullet REASONABLY and reasonably, not massively, overpaying in ok degree for a guy we know is gonna deliver and be worth the investment, like Yandle.

As far as im concerned its more credible than his agent going around listing literally almost every team in the league as being interested in doan....

It wasn't directed towards anyone
I just took a look at the main board doan thread and like every 5 posts there's a new post about his agent saying The _____ are also interested in doan.

Renaud Lavoie is pretty legit. Like I had said in my post, I just don't see Doan as a fit in MTL. Hopefully he signs with us and puts the Nash rumors to bed.

Please don't even say such things. Soon people will start with trade proposals.

I know your being tongue and cheek, but Seguin barely makes a dent. If you go to cap geek, they have approximately 250,000 cap space.

With so many teams interested, and some of them desperate, it's not unthinkable that Doan, coming off an improbable playoff run, could get options four or five years long, in the $5 million-to-$6 million per year range.

Boston is pretty much at the 70k limit as of right now. Savard's $4 million comes off to start the year. I'm not sure if Thomas' $5 million comes off too.

But still thats $61 million. Probably around $63 with a backup goalie and reserve player. You dont know what the cap will be like with the roll back.

So Roszival is either stellar or steaming turd?

Somewhere in the middle maybe, like a polished turd. I'm not going to speak for anyone else, but my problem was always the turnovers. If he could do a handoff to Jagr, he got a ton of points and big time +- stats (funny how that is only a good stat if it supports your argument). Too many costly turnovers during breakouts. Not the greatest coverage guy either, but I can concede that that was a product of playing tough minutes against top lines.

I liked when Roszival was invisible. But if he was noticeable you were either saying, "Damn, why doesn't he shoot more" or you were pulling your hair out because he assisted the other team's goal.

Thanks.
Why don't you just throw Lundqvist into the proposal too, while you're at it.

The Rangers aren't trading Richards and the Ducks aren't trading either Getzlaf or Perry.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with Savard being counted towards their cap on capgeek despite him being on LTIR.
