Alex Burrows to Montreal

He would fit pretty well in the Montreal top 6. He's a left winger, can score goals and is a gritty player like Michel Therrien likes them. Also he's from Montreal. He will be UFA next year, so that could lower his value.

And he's the kind of player that would be for to have in a Habs-Bruins rivalry...

What do the Canucks need the most? Maybe Montreal would be willing to part with a prospect or a pick...

Unless that prospect is Galchenyuk, the Canucks aren't interested.

He's worth more to the Canucks than any other team, and his contract/cap hit is extremely valuable to a team that spends to the cap.

Anywho, the Canucks need a top 6 winger, so trading Burrows makes no sense whatsoever.

Canucks for sure would have to get a better player back than Burrows to trade him. He's extremely valuable and very underrated in the league (IMO). Hard to deal a guy like this especially when he signs for home-town discounts.

just doesn't make sense - not for vancouver.

the logic is he's a pretty decent player so why not give him to the habs. but vancouver needs him. and he has a ton of value to vancouver, so i dont know why theyd trade him for a "pick or prospect". just doesnt make sense.

Alex Burrows is not tradeable, unless it absolutely knocks Gillis off his feet.
Not happening.

Maybe toss in a conditional 5th and Colby Armstrong, or is that too much, no just the conditional 5th.

We have to sign Burrows though and that will suck since he will actually want to earn a nice salary this time after being bent over these 4 years.

If he wants 5 million maybe we should trade him.

He is not worth Kesler money to you? To me he absolutely is.

Absolutely not. Take him away from the twins and what does he give us? Checks and pots a few goals. I'd pay him 4 million per year. I honestly don't think he's very skilled, I like him and he works hard and plays a complete game but he's not some elite scorer.

I could handle a condition 5th. Armstrong is going nowhere.

What if the Canucks threw in Kesler and Edler, could Montreal include Armstrong?

The potential of Armstrong would be a tough sell... Ok

Burrows
Elder
Kesler and a 2nd

For Diaz
Armstrong
And the conditional 5th.

I think the extra 2nd from van
Pushes this deal over the top.

Better defensive play then anyone not named Kesler or possibly Hansen.

Speed.

Some grit to go with that for a top six role, and is a great antagonist (look at this board if you need an example).

PK and PP ability.

Hockey know how that is incredibly underrated.

"He works hard" is a ridiculous understatement. He is the James Brown of the NHL, and is worth as much as a symbol to our prospects as a player.

Plus, why would you take him away from the Sedins? He makes them better as much as they make him better.

So let's hear the proposal Hab's fans, make it good, because our counter won't be pretty.

Value of Burrows to Mtl (or anywhere else for that matter): You're not going to like it.

If you've got any elite pkers who play on the top line and score 30+ goals a season for $2 mil, I'd consider that. Otherwise, thanks but no thanks.
