After the Luongo threads I can't even tell if people are being sarcastic any more.

For Carey Price or no deal. We really need to resolve our goaltending situation.

lol Burrows is no where near an elite player.

Subban or Galchenyuk and more

His value is way to high for Vancouver to consider moving him. Perfect fit for the Sedins, fantastic PKer and defensive forward, extremely low cap hit, great character guy and fan favourite.

You don't just accidentally score 35 goals. If it were as simple as playing with the Sedins, Taylor Pyatt would also be a 35 goal scorer.

I'd do this. Finally a decent trade proposal that helps both clubs.

He did pretty well at the WC for a player who rides off the Twins all of the time...

Exactly. Do people think Burrows will ONLY compliment the Sedins or something? To me it's very obvious that he would compliment any intelligent players. As such, he's a 1st line support winger on almost every team in the league. He is good for about 30 goals, he's an underrated passer, and he plays well defensively. The only catch is you need to pair him with good players to get that production, which is totally fine if you ask me.

Burrows gets no respect. People just can't get past his lack of draft pedigree.

Lacks skill? In Burrows breakout year he got as many points on Kesler's wing as he did with the Sedins. He has the best shoot-out move on the team and while he doesn't have a heavy, powerful shot, he has very quick and accurate hands and is as dangerous on the backhand as the forehand. He's also probably the most "hockey smart" player on the team not named Sedin. His skating in unconventional looking, but very effective - he's actually quite fast.

Special Teams - PK: Until Newell Brown changed the PK to more passive zone/box, Burrows was always a threat for short handed goal. The combination of anticipation, a quick stick, acceleration and a wicked finishing move made him extremely dangerous. It's just harder to do that when you are playing a deeper 4 man box.

Special Teams - PP: Burrows gets very little PP time. It's just a preference that AV/Newell Brown choose to load up the 1st unit with Kesler in front of the net.

Works hard. Yeah - and Nick Lidstrom was a pretty good defenseman.

Checks - he's an elite checker.

People who say Burrows is just a product of the Sedins are wrong. He might not be a 30 goal scorer, but on a 2nd line with more balanced PP, he'd still be one of the best 2nd line wingers in the league and would not be out of place on the 1st line of just about any team.

That's right. Lets not forget that the Sedins have gone from PPG players to 100+ pt MVPs with him on their line too - as someone else pointed out, he makes them better as well.

this is absolutely correct.

People listen please (this includes Canucks fans!): Burrows plays on the first line because he's a first line player.

It's that simple. He doesn't play there because he's some hack 3rd liner who somehow scores 30 goals while playing against the top competition on the other team.

The reason he plays with the Sedins is because he CAN. and the reason he can, is because he is just that talented. The Sedins are great but they do not magically make someone score 35 goals. That would be like saying whoever plays with Thornton isn't really scoring the goals he's scoring. Or even more accurate, Bobby Ryan isn't really doing what he is doing because he played on a line with BOTH Getzlaf and Perry, 2 superstars. (I think Bobby played on their line a couple years ago at least).

Point is, when a player does something, it's because they are skilled enough to do it. You can't say "James Neal only scored 40 because he played beside the best player in the game". Sure, he did, but he still potted 40 goals. And the reason he played on the first line with Crosby is because he was good enough to play on the first line.

That's my rant on that. Burrows is a legit 1st liner, because of his hockey sense. He's so smart, and who said he isn't skilled??? Have you watched him play ever? Watch him carry the puck, he's amazing at it. Watch him in a shootout. He does everything at a high level. Everything.

Burrows is +118 and has put up 129 goals over the last 5 years... He also has a knack for scoring ridiculously important goals... and he costs $2 mil still.

He's worth far too much to trade.

The families of Burrows, Kesler and Bieksa want to stick together so ask for one, you must ask for all three. Could the Habs handle taking on $11.5 million in salary? Gillis will definately want more than just a third round pick for all three.

And he's the kind of player that would be for to have in a Habs-Bruins rivalry...

What do the Canucks need the most? Maybe Montreal would be willing to part with a prospect or a pick...

So an M5 or a Toyota Camry?

I would do a deal centered around Patches and Burrows.

Neither are going to happen.

I think people are stuck in cap mode of three years ago...in this day and age, with this cap, 5m is not at all bad for burrows.
