The Kemptville 73's are proud to announce that they have signed the following players for the 2012-13 CCHL season:

Devin Desnoyers, 5'10" 175lb Forward from Greely, played for National Sports Academy, 71 points in 44 games

Interesting [young prepschool] roster and it could be good. Rebuild or reload ? Whatever it takes to make this team competitive. The 2012-2013 season is shaping up nicely.
At this time is about scouting, recruiting and signing. Hopefully, other CCHL teams will take Kemptville's lead. Cumberland Sads and Gloucester Rangers that means you !
rebuild. good players, but will take some time to develop. 13-14 theyll be decent.
Time will tell if they are good or not. Doesn't look like a whole lot with junior experience but it's a start and shows they are willing to recruit. With these 11 signings, kemptville now has 28 players. Changes, they are a coming.
It is interesting to see that the 73's were able to recruit players from some of the top prep programs, Stanstead and Lake Forest, that traditionally only the top teams in the league have had success with. Someone mentioned that none had junior experience however NSA and the NE Stars played in the IJHL which is a junior league, although not at the same calibre as the CCHL. These types of players take a while to recruit so most of the leg work was probably done under the old ownership but my guess is the new ownership change of philosophy helped finalize everything. It is obvious there is a greater willingness to billet and build using both local and non-local players. They will still have a good core of local guys like Byron, Nowak, Gonu, Lussier, possibly Guy if not with 67's, Brind'amour to name a few.........plus 3 of the guys announced are actually local.
It will be interesting to see how this team makes out, it will go through an adjustment period, but it certainly looks like some thought has gone into it by adding some size and depth to compliment what they already have.

Sorry to burst your bubble, did some research and made some calls on these guys and most are legitimate prospects, I could not get info on them all. More than one of them was being chased by several teams including some of the top ones in the league, apparently most committed to the 73s over a month ago.
Since you are the resident expert on the 73's, how many 17 year olds in Kemptville this season ?
How many 17 year old does it take for a total rebuild or reload ?
You seem to know what is going on with this team and spend considerable time in Kemptville. Are you angling for to be an assistant coach or trainer ?
Not a resident expert, more of a fan of the league, probably seen more Kanata games than any other last year just because the night is conveniet. To answer your question probably not a lot of 17 year olds based on birth years of all the signees.

It is very good for the league. It would be great to see Kemptville in the top 4. That would be impressive.

Looks like their going in the right direction, new ownership and scouts working the rinks so only time will tell. Wonder if there doing an overhaul, did they not have a few other veteran players with Jr. A experience with Rosebrook, House and Gowdy up front and backend Feras, Hendsbee at the end of the year.
It's really tough to tell at a camp with so many players and talent level all over the map. Most camps are at a Junior B/C level, won't know even with the new signees how they will adjust to a legitimate Junior A pace and 62 game schedule. Not really sure how it's going to shake out based on the various predictions there's a lot of uncertainty but they may be in the play-off mix.

CP signs 6' 7" D Luke Formica. A 1994, he played for Victory Honda AAA Midgets last year.
