Is anyone else terrified to hear Hagelin's name involved?
Yes. If the trade can be made without including Stepan, Kreider, Hagelin, or any defensemen, then it's a major win.
I like how we're talking about it like the trade is a matter of fact. I have a feeling that it is, but still need to see a legit source post before believing anything.
The sad part is, since this has dragged out so long: my reaction will probably be "matter of fact" at this point.
Isn't much surprise or fun anymore.
I know that feel my friend. I want it to get done, mainly for closure. It's getting real old hearing all these players I've liked for so long being tossed around in these rumors.
Johan Witehall - Brian Skrudland - Michal Grosek
Tim Sweeney - Christian Dube - Mike Keane
Daniel Goneau - Jeff Toms - Rico Fata
Steve McKenna - PJ Stock - Zdeno Ciger
Rumun Ndur - Rich Pilon
Dave Karpa - Igor Ulanov
Jason Doig - Peter Smrek
Mike Dunham
Johan Holmqvist
That's a damn All-Star team. I see no need for Nash.
Is anyone else terrified to hear Hagelin's name involved?
I'm more terrified that Nash's name is involved TBH. I'd prefer to hold onto Hagelin if possible (I'd like to see a line of Hags Dubi Callahan if AA is the player going to CBus).
So far we have added Asham, Pyatt and Halpern replacing Prust, Fedotenko and Mitchell. Another addition will be Kreider replacing Wolski/Christensen/Zuccarellos spot last year. Here we have no comparable statistics. But we all hope & belive that Kreider will be a serious upgrade.
I see it as:
Kreider > Wolski...
Asham < Prust
Halpern > Mitchell
Pyatt > Fedotenko
Here are stats on each respective player and career totals IN vs OUT

Saving $2.100.000 for the same PPG looks good on paper
Added size, experience...
So far these moves are not anything to get riled about, although losing Prust will hurt teams identity.
What is Sathergoing to use All the available cap space on? You know he cannot resist
Resigning RFAs MDZ and Stralman will cost 3,5 to 4 million. We have $15,8 M available now ( with Haley also on the roster but with the $70,2 M cap). Say cap stays the same as last year instead.
Available space $9,900,000
Resign to RFAs $3.900.000
Left $6.000.000 + Haleys contract ($700.000) minus a 7th unsigned defender.
In addition we have Sauer and Gaborik on the LTIR starting the year, freeing up another $8,750,000. Say Erixon replaces Sauer. There is also a bit of deferrable bonus money in play here.
Something is gonna happen
Be so sure...
I think he has to be kept out of this deal, kid should replace Dubinsky but hopefully with more upside.
Like I said above, I agree.
And I can't also help to feel that its a bit unnecessary if it would happen.
From our point of view, what would be a perfect deal -- value aside -- for us? Like, lets say that we are giving up alot, what's the perfect package we can put together?
I would say that it would be something like: Dubinsky, Thomas, Erixon and two-three 1st.
1. We would not be in cap hell.
2. We would substitute Dubinsky with Nash on last years roster. In other words, we would become a instant contender.
3. We would still have a farm. JT Miller. McIlrath. Fasth.
I much rather give up the assets above, than Hagelin, Anisimov and co. Heck I don't even want to give up Dubinsky, but I guess that's a must.
------------------
Now, Howson would of course never accept that offer. He want that value, but, I guess, like players like Kreider, Hagelin, MDZ and co instead of Thomas, Erixon, and two-three 1st. But the value is most certainly there for us to make a "perfect" deal for Nash.
I can't help to dream for Slats to be able to put together a three-way deal of some form. IE, CBJ does not want a D in Erixon? Would EDM give up Pääjärvi for Erixon? I would say that they have about the same value. And so forth. Who could C. Thomas and a 1st get us? Boedker? Jacob Josefsson? One of STL's boatload of wingers? Couldn't something be worked out???
Is anyone else terrified to hear Hagelin's name involved?
Not terrified but I think he will get moved. Ideally I would like to see Hagelin, Anisimov, 1st for Ryan and then Dubinsky for Morrow.. If its Nash then that won't happen because of cap implications and Howson's asking price. Love the fact they got Halpern, needed a right handed center that can win draws.
Hagelin's name has been mentioned. Stop coaching Pat mentioned Hagelin last week. AA has never been publicly linked in connection with Columbus. Dubinsky and AA will combine for 80-90 points for Columbus which is more 20-30 more points than Nash had in 2011-12.

Halpern is really only a depth guy but still it makes me think they are going to make a 2 for 1 deal soon enough.
I think it may hurt the 3rd line and bottom 6 but moving Anisimov and Dubinsky may be able to get a top 6 LW. Again Ryan Clowe is my target and SJ is looking to shake things up. SJ would have to send the Rangers over more than just Clowe who is a UFA at season end.
Clowe, Richards, Gaborik
Kreider, Stepan, Callahan
Hagelin, Boyle, Pyatt
Rupp, Halpern, Asham
Leaves Haley, Wellman and Newbury as experienced call ups
Also Miller, Thomas, Bourque, Yogan have a chance to impress and get called up.
Either a deal like that or say screw it and just keep Dubinksy and Anisimov and have depth through the lineup

The target is and remains Nash. Dubi and AA for Clowe is a major overpayment, and there's that Clowe is a target, other than your insistent proposal of Dubinsky and Anisimov to acquire him.
Oh boyyyyy here we go. If true, it will be very interesting how Sather reacts.
Yeah, I put this supposed news on this thread yesterday and said the boards will explode if true. Now it seems it is. BOOM! Now people are gonna go ape****t here
