Shanahan was a much better player and goal scorer then Nash, and when he was disgruntled at Hartford this is what Detroit gave up to get him:

Hartford:

Shanahan: 28 yrs old 52,52,44 goals last 3 full seasons

Glynn: nothing asset

for

Detroit:

Primeau: 25 yr old, 52 pt avg last 3 full seasons at Det on one of the best teams in NHL

Coffey: Coffey said wouldn't play for Harford prior to trade and was traded almost immediately

1st rounder

No way does Nash warrant the same return as Shanahan did at the same point in their careers. The trade was basically Primeau and a 1st for Nash.

Primeau's a better verison of Dubinsky at that point of his career, as their numbers are fairly similar, except for Primeau's one 70 point year, which was a blip on the radar at that point. But the Rangers would make up for that with prospects instead of sending a usless piece like Coffey who said he refuses to play for you.

I don't see how Dubinsky, Prospect or two, and a 1st rd isn't a similar return, I hope if this rumor is true it is a similar proposal

The beauty about being a rumor monger is that nobody can really prove you wrong.

"Deal didn't happen? That's because it fell through at the last second!"

"We have different sources apparently!"

Blah blah blah..

It was exactly that. I love NYR fans, but we have some of the most gullible fans in the NHL lol

More palatable...not thrilled about losing Miller, but I guess if you want Nash you probably can't hold on to everyone.

I don't think you can compare across times like that, but I wouldn't give more than one roster player, whether it be Dubi or AA I don't care.. prefer it to be Dubi after last year but he could easily comeback this year and prove better than AA.

Dealing both, or one + Hagelin no thanks. I like our depth, and want to improve it.

Dubi, prospect, 1st or no deal.. personally I prefer no deal because of that cap hit but Sather seems like he has to do this, so go on..

Different time, different scenarios, different players, different teams, different everything.

Portzlline stopped tweeting updates of every time Howson used the bathroom so something could be up. Columbus stopped leaking.

You can tell by his attitude in his tweets since it happened that hes making it up. Very defensive, almost mocking/taunting.

I just tweeted at him saying how much attention and new followers this has gained him, so his mission is accomplished.

Well the dude said draft picks. I'm assuming whatever deal gets Nash, by whomever, will be a 3 for 1, one of those 3 parts being a pick.

Dubi, X, 1st rd.

Feel like X could be Mcilrath, Erixon, Del Zotto, or Stepan.

If Hagelin is involved then it'll be a 4 part deal and the prospect that we give up will be of little significance, such as a Yogan or Bourque.

Not to mention Hartford got a 1st and spares for Coffey, and he was an all-star defenseman at the time. Terrible comparison when you choose to ignore Coffey since he didn't play there long.

I googled Greg Caggiano and found gems such as "Malkin to the Kings is Serious Trade Rumor" and "Gomez for a Sedin Twin (both Sedins if Prucha is included!)" from the summer of 2008. Sounds legit!

Caggiano is a 19 year old college student from Hazlet, NJ with no real connections that aspires to be another Eklund. Last year, he tweeted that Girardi to Edmonton was a done deal and that the Rangers would never send Redden down. He's a little beotch.

Dubinsky and Anisimov. They want NHL roster forwards. The Rangers won't be able to afford AA next summer so they might as well trade him. Plus a 2nd round pick. A prospect not named Erixon,Miller,McIlrath and Skjei. Kreider is not a prospect.

I was actually hoping that this one was legit. I really wanted the Nash saga to end.

Anisimov should not be moved. 2nd round pick is a slap in the face.
