I wonder if he was this sure of himself with the 2 previous rumors he's reported as extremely serious.

This would make me very happy. I'm assuming that prospect would be Christian Thomas.

Different Time:

Yes, but I am not sure how that changes things and Shanahan should be worth more then Nash. Also there was no cap, so adding large salary didn't hurt as much.

Different Teams:

Only in Name, Detroit was trying to make a run at a cup, and Hartford aquired Shanahan from St Louis in order to make a playoff run a few years before. Similar to Columbus with Carter.

Different Scenario:

Not quite Shanahan was disgruntled with how things were going in Hartford, and wanted to go to a contender. Shanahan was the piece that was going to put Detroit over the top.

Different Everything: Even this trade talk went on for Month's, that is why Coffey had the time to say he wouldn't play for Hartford. But still did a couple of games.

If anything it seems almost identical in almost every way except it was 16 years earlier, and that significantly lowers Nash's value

More stuff on Morrow..

Quote:
Dallas captain Brenden Morrow is believed to be available and it appears that the Blues have interest. They may not be the only team asking about Morrow, as the New York Rangers, San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings may also be in contact with the Stars.

Does Rick Nash have facebook or Twitter?

If not, someone should create a fake account and put your status as "Broadway Bound!" See how many people try to friend you.

I'd like it if Sather managed to sell a package of Dubi + Boyle + Miller + Thomas + 1st to Howson. Fits the 2 roster players + 2 prospects mold, Howson prefers forwards.

W/O Gabby:

Nash - Richards - Hagelin
Kreider - Stepan - Callahan
Asham - Anisimov - Pyatt
Rupp - Halpern - Haley

With Gabby:

Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik
Nash - Stepan - Kreider
Pyatt - Anisimov - Callahan
Rupp - Halpern - Asham

Coffey was toast in 1996. The Rangers were in on Shanahan in 1996. Rutherford wanted Graves and Smith wouldn't move him. Rutherford knew Graves as a teenager in Winsdor.

Dubinsky, Anisimov, Thomas and a 2nd round pick would be acceptable for Rick Nash. Absolutely no way Nash warrants a Rangers 1st. We are taking an overrated Nash of Columbus' hands. Who is doing who a favor here? (Lundsanity - I'm back with the salary concern )

Doug Armstrong and Hitch love Morrow. They know him from the Stars. They're more likely to look passed his injuries. Pass.

What if the "#CBJ #NYR #TRADE" wound up being Huselius or Prospal?

I think more and more of these rumor guys are going to appear over time. Like another poster said, its hard to prove these guys wrong. I am guilty of following some. I think the reason why people do is because they want the stuff to be true, and they are bored.

I recently was blocked by the WentToJailBoob. Started mocking him out after he claimed Parise to Pens was done. He also claimed Nash trade was completed moments after the Rangers moved Wolski. Which kinda proved to me the guy is just an educated guesser. He probably figured that Wolski getting moved was the precursor for Nash and made his announcement.

I followed that Hockey-Insider guy for about a week. Then he talked about the Rangers trading McDonaugh for Nash, and then trading for Yandle to replace him... Clearly full of it.

What worries me about this Caggiano thing is him saying, "One of the players being traded is someone that no one has talked about." Ok... by saying this he is claiming that he knows the details of the trade. Why not just release it? I know if I had that type of connection, I would release every single detail of the completed trade. And for that reason, I think the guy is another fake. But I am hoping that he is the real deal. I guess we will see.

I'm actually surprised Stars may trade Morrow. I thought with Dallas's recent acquisitions there was going to be a contest on who could eat the most tapioca pudding. Hell, maybe even a race with Segways.
