Morrow would be a good acquisition if he was healthy, but those injury problems are a major concern. Back injuries are usually recurrent and tend to crop up again, it may plague him for the rest of his career.
If a Nash to NYR trade is done, then a Ryan to NYR is a moot point, as in not happening, unfortunately.
I have said previously in other threads/posts that I would move MDZ in the right move, I don't want to give him away. I said I PREFER to include MDZ in a Ryan trade over Hagelin, I didn't say it would or should happen. MDZ has more value trade wise than Hagelin, you send MDZ, you should get more back. You sign a depth defenceman to play in the 2nd pair if you trade MDZ, unless you're getting a top 4 d man back. If I had a choice to trade MDZ or AA, I trade AA. I'd actually trade Dubinsky to Anaheim instead of MDZ, but Anaheim might not want to take money back. That way you can trade Dubinsky, if the salaries match up, it'd be easier to do to get a replacement for MDZ. Just my opinion, some will disagree.
A) He's a complete fraud trying to build up a follower base and hits like Eklund has achieved (fwiw I don't believe Eklund to be a complete fraud, I'm just saying it's what Caggiano would like to achieve in terms of numbers) to generate revenue.
B) He actually does have a source inside the organization, a Nash trade is complete or being worked out currently, and he's not allowed to divulge too much or he loses the contact in the future. Would be a reason why others (Dreger, Portzline) are quiet. That could have been requested.
Dubinsky, Anisimov, Thomas and a 2nd round pick would be acceptable for Rick Nash. Absolutely no way Nash warrants a Rangers 1st. We are taking an overrated Nash of Columbus' hands. Who is doing who a favor here? (Lundsanity - I'm back with the salary concern )
I'm for that proposal, doubt that gets it done though. DO NOT want to give up a no. 1 draft pick for Nash, unless they flip first round picks (CBJ's 1st will be much earlier than NYR!)
