Kind of funny, a year ago i bought Ryan and Nash jerseys because they're 2 of my favorite non-Rangers, now they're both rumored to be traded, and we're in the mix.

Not the first time Caggiano has claimed to have an "inside source:"

Quote:
And here's what Caggiano, who also hosts a Rangers radio show, had to say in his defense:

"I have an inside source with the organization that says the Rangers are actively shopping Scott Gomez and the Canucks long with the Kings and Wild are the three most probable destinations. I was informed that the Rangers would receive (sic) one Sedin in exchange for Gomez and two Sedins if the Rangers included Petr Prucha in the deal. But now, the deal looks to be flat out; Scott Gomez for Ryan Kesler. I'm surprised by this as everyone else and a rumor is a rumor but I'm telling you it's valid. It may not come to fruition, but something is in the works.

How all of this specificity occurred when most of the NHL's executives are fishing near their mountain cabins ... well, who knows? Maybe Sather and Gillis bumped into each other on the beach or something and started talking about Ryan Kelser.

Notice how all the people who actually do have good sources, such as Brooks, Dreger, etc., never have to say "I have an inside source!" while the frauds always allege that they have some sort of connection.

If I worked for a NHL organization I'd leak false info to my "friends" all the time just for the hell of it

To be fair, I do remember Vancouver being a rumored destination for Scotty. Not saying I believe this guy, just saying.

It's unfair to impugn Mister Caggiano; his sources are the best of any NHL insider. who operates and lives in his parent's basement.

Thanks.

I'm hearing no trade talks for Brenden Morrow to St louis. Nothing really cooking at all right now.

It appears that the Blues are interested in Morrow (Doug Armstrong used to be with the Stars) but the Rangers might also be in on him. Interesting to see that the Rangers were linked to Morrow in the past. And you can't ignore the Brad Richards factor, even if it's only a small part of it.

I have a feeling there's going to be something along the lines of..." just got back from my run, and I got a call while out that said the deal was off because Columbus asked for something else/Sather wanted an extra pick/didn't want to include X player"

Also not really interested in Morrow. Maybe he bounces back, but a down year and scathing reports of his ability last year makes me nervous.

Morrow has one more year left on his contract at a cap hit of $4.1 million. He's 33 and will be 34 in January. He also has a NTC.

Morrow had some injuries last year, but he is only one year away from a 33g season. If healthy we could count on him for at least 20-25g plus leadership, and he's scrappy. He's not the youngest, but so what? He fits our style of play alot.

Definitely shouldn't be the only move we make obviously. This should be in addition to another top 6 move i'm sure.

Yep, he's Doan only a little younger and much more cap conscious.

Do you guys remember the poster "Code"? Whatever happened to him? I bought into him because he nailed the Peter Worrell signing (I know not much to nail) but then he floated this crazy Kovalchuck to the NYR for Jagr + (I believe Garth Murray and Josef Balej were rumoured, so this was circa 2004-05 ish).

Anyway, back on current activity. The Doan talk has quieted down with Morrow and the "#CBJ #NYR #TRADE" that will occur any minute.

He broke the third jersey story and also wrote an article in about Torts being a good fit for the Rangers 6 months before it actually happened. The guy was writing for BleacherReport for years. Not some random crackpot although could be looking for some followers.

He lives in my town (hazlet)...Maybe I'll drive around and look for a guy jogging wearing a Ranger t shirt and get some answers !

At this point in their careers Doan is a much better hockey player and it's not very close.

Before last year, he was putting up 20+, and he's only got a year left. Doan would want 5. This might be something to look into.
