Wow. Very interesting to hear DB would look into pairing Despres with Letang.

hmm down the lines yes, but that's a gutsy call for Despres this early on. I could see it by season's end. If he can do that, our d pairings suddenly look a lot more dangerous:

Letang-Despres
Orpik-Martin
Nisky-Engelland

What do you guys think Brian Dumolin's chances are at making the team? Seems like him and Depres are the only two prospects with shots at making it.

For everyone harping on Bennett's size, he's 1 inch shorter and 3 lbs lighter than Neal. Bam.

I liked Despres paired with Tanger too - seemed to have a natural chemistry.

Despres - Letang
Niskanen - Orpik
Martin - Engelland

Looks pretty balanced.

No, if BB is in the top 6 it means Shero has failed to get anything for us this offseason. He is no where near ready for the NHL......he has had injury troubles to this point in his College career and probably should have stayed another year there so he could dominate competition. Im not convinced he's going to do well this year even in the AHL.

Very weird to me that he got moved to pro when he hasnt shown much in College yet.

Bylsma stating how they're only interested at this point, definitely indicates that the report is bogus on Semin agreeing to a 1-year deal. I'm sure all of us were under that assumption already anyway.
Is Bennett ready to move to a top 6 spot straight away?

Tangradi could I reckon but not Kennedy.

Cool to hear about BC coach using Pen's video on puck retrieval, breakouts, etc as a model for the BC program. That should help Dumoulin assimilate into the organization.

It's unlikely but anything's possible, definitely looks like he's put a lot of work in at the gym during the season and the summer.

Desprès with Letang? I like the sound of that. Letang and Martin were kind of good together and I think Desprès can be way better than Martin. He will need time to adjust to playing with a guy liek LEtang, but he should be fine, he has the skills to do so.

Plus, it would give us more balanced pairings.

Desprès - Letang
Martin - Niskanen
Orpik - Engelland

Not too bad.

What I like about having Martin/Orpik together is I think they could actually play a shutdown role, and still play big minutes. Martin when playing his game is solid enough to do that, and Orpik has some size and is physical enough to make up for Martin's complete lack of it.

Uh there are four top six spots and last time I did my math, even if Shero got another top six winger, that still leaves a top six spot most likely filled by Dupuis yet again.

despres won't crack the lineup if he continues to guzzle beer before interviews.

Yeah definitely. Martin-Orpik can absolutely be a shutdown pairing.
