Would not mind him here if we can't get anybody else and we get him cheap.

Cheap? Doubt it. Morrow still has a reputation around the league as a game changer and is fondly remembered for his Olympic stint. Well, and his 2008 heroics, but that was 4 years ago. Will be 5 years when the next playoffs roll around.

Morrow would add a little more sandpaper to the Wings, but he's not great with the puck and takes a ton of stupid penalties. He's been injured and he's slowing down. I don't see him as that much of an upgrade over Bertuzzi, honestly.

He's been used in a Holmstrom type role on the powerplay for years and never did it as good as Homer.

I wouldn't be adverse to Morrow as a deadline rental, but I get the feeling a more desperate Canadian team like Vancouver or Toronto would easily outbid Detroit to add a veteran power forward. Anything more than a rental and, eh, Morrow is on the decline. He's following Smyth's career pretty closely it seems, and I think Morrow is a 20/20 guy from here on out.

I'm guessing this has already been posted and I'm late to the party but I just saw that Chris Conner had signed with Phoenix. I wonder why they wouldn't of offered him another 1 year deal.

Totally guessing here, but the Wings may have told him that they didn't have plans for him in the bottom 6, and if they didn't tell him that, he and his agent probably saw all of the bottom 6 guys Holland has picked up so far this offseason.

Conner could have helped our bottom 6 last year, especially when we had all the injuries, but really didn't get a shot, so I don't see how he would have made the team going into next year. Hope he nails down a spot with the 'Yotes- his grinding style should be a good fit for that team.

Anybody else noticing Q front and center right behind Crosby on the main tsn page. Just funny with all the star power he is in the second row behind him.

Really hope a luxury tax system with a soft cap is implemented in the new CBA.

I know it wont happen, but i can dream.

Didn't sound like this was the case although seems to be some debate if the players are still after that.

I do think people should be cautious about what that would mean for the Wings. Now we know Ilitch likes to spend but this is a much different environment than when the cap came into place. Many of the big market teams have rebounded and hover way above previous pay grade levels with all-time profits. It won't be Detroit, Toronto, Montreal and New York just in this conversation. Sure the Stars and Avs paid well too, but you are looking at a much more competitive market even if the soft cap comes back. They aren't trying to catch the 30 million gap between the Rangers and Wings compared to the rest of the league.

They all start from the same level with certain markets able to keep up with the Wings this time around while building a big payroll. I am not sure this would play out the same way a lot of us think and would expect. LA, Chicago, Boston, Philly, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Dallas (rich aggressive owner), Buffalo (runs the team much like Ilitch for civic pride), and Detroit could all be very aggressive. It is a different landscape today.

We are organizing a most handsome player in the league poll tournament for the poll board, could you guys give me 3 of the most handsome players on the team?

We are doing a 68 player tournament and are doing 2 from each team with 8 players as wildcards.

This lockout needs to end.

Zetterberg and Filppula are winning in the WAG department.

In general Helm and Brendan Smith are probably in the running as well.

Although then again on the first point Holmstrom used to be pretty high on that whole WAG list thing still have no idea how he pulled that off.

Apparently Filppula is "smokin' hot"... always thought he looked like he could be in a boy band

Riiight, your "sister"

I know some people around here will freak out (no, not me) if Jonathan Ericsson isn't mentioned.

He's pretty cute, but I wouldn't say I have a crush on him. You're right about the Ericsson mention though, forgot about him.

Guess unlike Max Domi he is going to follow some of the worst aspects of his fathers game. That is clear intent the boarding is stupid, he hits him and extends his arms in an area that just isn't possible to explain him not thinking it was going to be bad. Lucky for hm the other guy wound up okay, otherwise he is looking at a longer suspension. In any event the part that really reminded me of Claude was not the stupid dirty play (okay that part does too), but the unapologetic and ignorant celebration as he is being shown the gate. He has just received the gate for major boarding and a pretty bad one and this clown is waiving to the crowd and acting like that was an okay play, I actually bet that got him a couple extra games.

"Red Wings" -plane has crashed in Russia.

http://www.iltalehti.fi/ulkomaat/201...44137_ul.shtml

Picture and video about the incident. 4 crew members died and 4 passengers severely injured.

Some technical problem again.

I really wonder how the players like that NHL lockout and going to KHL...

Oh, I thought you meant the team Red Wings. The airline is called Red Wings.

Still a concern for the quality of aircrafts in the Eastern Europe. They need to address this.
