2013 Canada World Junior team - anyone care to take a stab?

Thread says it all. Im not a 100% sure, but I think the eligible returnees are Oleksiak, Harrington, Murray, and D.Hamilton on D; Huberdeau, Scheifele, Strome, and Jenner up front.

I would imagine Mackinnon and Dumba are basically guaranteed considering how close they were last year.

Im thinking D will be the strength of this team.

Whos going to be in net?

I doubt Hubey plays in the CHL this year...

And MacKinnon wasn't close last year? He didn't get an invite (should've) but will be a sure thing this year imo.

Defense will be great regardless of who returns.

Murray and Hamilton are likely not to be available. After that take your pick on D. Ceci, Dumba, Reilly, Murphy are pretty much shoe ins. Leaves a spot or two for one of Reinhart, Poulliot, Koekkoek.

Gonna be some good d men left off that roster.

It's hard to say w/o knowing who will stick in the NHL (Huberdeau, Hamilton, and Murray will likely be there...probably Gormley. Maybe Schiefele)...b/c those players wouldn't be available to play.

I think of the players who got drafted this year (leaving aside Murray)...Dumba, Reinhart, and Rielly should certainly make it. Ceci probably will as well.

Of the players who are eligible for the 2013 draft I would think MacKinnon should make it...and Shinkaruk and Monahan have an outside shot, too. There weren't that many great forwards from the CHL who were 2012 draft eligible...so that may make it a bit easier for 2013s to make the team.

Drouin and Duclair have a very good chance of making it.

Ceci almost made the team this year. One of the if not the final cut. He'll be on the team.

If they like they did in April, it will be hard to keep them off the roster.

Ouellet from the Q might not make this WJC team. that shows the amazing depth on D we'll have.

I'd be surprised. They only take exceptionnals at 17 like Tavares, Hall, MacKinnon.

Drouin and Duclair are not in this category.

They might get invited to camp though. The '94 forwards crop is very thin in Canada, '95 is the best in a while.

That's my point.

I think both can go top 10 next year... They are underrated.

I think that there are a few 95's with a legit shot at making it.

Not a big name but defence man Frankie Corrado should have a good shot at it. Canucks drafted him 5th round in 2011 and has progressed extremely well. IIRC he was one of the runners up to hamilton for OHL best defenceman

I'd generally agree...but there really many good forwards from this past draft...the ones coming up seem to be better...which is why i think it might be easier for them to make the team.

I would have thought good b/c of the lack of depth at forward...but then he wasn't invited to the wjc summer series so

I think Murray makes the NHL next year and Hamilton gets sent back to juniors. Beaulieu and Oleksiak are both too old.

I think the D will be:

Pulock-Hamilton
Harrington-Dumba
Reinhart-Sproul
Rielly

I believe Sproul will keep developing at his quick pace and overtake Ceci. Rielly will be the 7th d-man acting as a PP specialist. I also think the World Juniors will be Pulock's coming out party which will make him shoot up the 2013 draft rankings.

Halifax without Fucale and MacKinnon during Christmas time might not be good though.
