As mentioned earlier in the thread, there are plenty of tweets saying who is in and who is likely out of the running. I've read a tweet that LA and Doan are rumored (as we suspected) as having mutual interest from Dennis Bernstein tweets.
Plenty more to pop up today and tomorrow, Doan will be a difficult and expensive player to land, I'll be very surprised if Bowman will get a decent chance at landing him even if he could somehow put Chicago ahead of LA or SJ on Doan's list.

Everyone wants Bowman to "trade for someone". However, whoever it is better be young, a 50+ point scorer who can play solid defense, can win faceoffs, be physical, and have a good contract....oh ya, and he better not trade any of 9 best players or best prospect.

My favorite is in terms of goalies, people don't want Bernier or Markstrom becuase they are unproven, they don't want Backstrom or Luongo because they are too old. Agree, goalies are the best. Despite no #1 goalies ever changing teams, people expect Bowman to get a top flight goalie and not give up much in return.
No. Even if his contract demands aren't completely insane (no more than 5 mil per year) its been reported he is looking for multiple years. The Hawks are a cap team with a lot of talent on the wings already and there is no reason to risk giving Doan a 35+ contract that he may not finish. I would much rather get Andrei Kostitsyn for less money, without the risk of a 35+ contract, and someone who should still have value after the season if a prospect develops and is ready to take his job. AK in a top 6 role will give the Hawks around 20 goals and a decent physical presence.
Kings are loaded with Doan. They will probably repeat.

It simply doesn't happen anymore. LA has become incredibly overrated in a very short time. Now that they won a Cup, people are all thinking dynasty... I don't feel it at all.

not just that...but i suspect that there's going to be a level of "fool me once..." when it comes to some of their shenanigans. they've got quick...who, i think, will only get better...so they can't be ignored at all. i can definitely see every other team heavily keying in on brown, et al.
