Trick question? lol. Absolutely. I thought he might be an under the radar type of guy that might be on the block.

Probably, but I'd rather have Nash TBH.

if the team can keep the kids like Hagelin, Miller, Erixon and only give up Dubinsky ,Anisimov and say a pick for Marleau I rather do that. He's always crapped on in SJ yet he gets tons of pts every yr. Plus its only 2 yrs left at 7 plus and not even more with Nash

Marleau would be perfect. 30+ goal guy, can play Left Wing or Center... his contract isn't for the next 8 years either.

so with gaborik this year, our lines are...

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Stepan-Callahan
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Boyle
Rupp-Halpern-Pyatt

that honestly is not bad at all.. I would like it better if boyle could be on the 4th line, but hey what can ya do... if we don't make a move now, we could always add at the deadline.

I don't think you'd have to give up all those extra assets to get Nash...

Marleau has played with MUCH better talent in SJ than Nash has in CLB and is 5 years older. Nash has that game breaking ability that we've sorely missed for I don't know how long now, and this is coming from someone who isn't too nuts about the concept of trading for Nash.

I like Marleau, hes a very good player who you can spot at LW or C (I'd be happy to have him if all it took was Dubi+AA) but Nash is the better player.

id love Marleau on this team....more than Nash....although i would really love Joe Palvelski but is an UFA in 2013 or 2014... he will get a raise that is for sure...scores big goals and still young. i can see him getting 5-7 on the open market.....

Which a third line of Boyle-Anisimov-Pyatt could do.

Hags speed would be missed for sure though.

Half of that top six will be moved for Nash, so insert talents like Asham and Newbury accordingly

Can't say as I agree with that. The guy has followed a not completely unusual growth curve. Not saying he'll put up 70 points in a good year but 50 point 2nd line guy is not unreasonable from him.

Or...

SJ: AA, (forward from CBJ)

CBJ: Dubinsky, Marleau

NYR: Nash

I believe that will be true even if he plays for CBJ.

If he needed additional motivation (or soul searching) the Gm's in the NHL are doing Nash a favor. Nash is discovering his worth to the league and it isn't in the Super elite realm. If you want that recognition you have to put up super numbers.

I believe he'll be traded soon but I wouldn't be stunned if he starts next season with CBJ. I'm not sure the animosity couldn't be repaired? Nash has proven himself to be loyal if nothing else. He seems to be interested in not hurting the CBJ franchise. I can't say all players would remain quiet during the process?

I believe the off seasons trade rumors will motivate him to take his game to a very high level. Top players play for pride. I expect to see Rick Nash's best game next season.

Only one question... For whom?
I agree that Nash should be on a mission. I'd love to see him go out and just tear it up. We'll see.

Uhh.. half the roster??? Lets say we moved Dubi and Hagelin ++.. Roster looks like the following. Also, if Dubi AND hagelin go the other way, the added cap to the payroll for Nash is significantly less. (somewhere around 3M+) which could be used to bring in another useful player to move Pyatt off the 3rd line.

Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Nash-Stepan-Callahan
Boyle-Anisimov-Pyatt
Rupp-Halpern-Asham

That's still nothing to sneeze at, at all..

Not half the roster, just three of Hagelin, Richards, Gaborik, Kreider, Stepan and Callahan apparently...

Only if we trade for him first.. I don't want to see him "tear it up" because than the price goes even higher. So let's make the "fair deal", and than watch him tear it up FOR us.

I prefer AA and Dubinsky moving on and the lines being.

Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Nash-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin-Boyle-Pyatt

just to creat speculation because I'm bored, what kind of haul could Del Zotto center piece package bring back? A top 6 guy we could than swing along with Dubinsky for Nash? just for speculation.

I have a feeling we could get quite a haul, look at what the price is for dmen.. Than Erixon could maybe step in..

again this is just all hypothetical for fun.

I have no problem with that either.. I think Hagelin might be more highly touted than AA though which is why they would want him.
