I have to agree!

I like how aggressive DW is being with the Coaching staff. Shows he's responsible and accountable and wants the cup REAL BAD! I hope he can just get us 2 wingers!!

I think if you can play a speed game, you can have success. But you've got to have some structure within that speed game. That's, I think, what Dale's really trying to implement here is give these guys some structure when we don't have the puck because we know what kind of skill we have when we have the puck. It's getting it back as soon as we can and spending less time in our own end."

"Intellectual speed", that's Pavs, that and the Burish signing makes me think Pavs is safe. Clowe on the other hand...not so much.

San Jose spent a lot of money on the assistant coach search...I know of two east coast candidates, and one of them made three different trips to San Jose to be interviewed.

Does anyone know what Ricci's expanded role with the coaching staff will be?

Depends on how he and Johnson got along for sure. At least DW will have a
coaches insight on the guy for and in which to make a decision on.

Is Semin actually a speedy player? I didn't watch him much. I just know he has a natural ability with the puck.

Also, Semin + Boyle on the same team?

Good. They didn't spend a single penny in the search for Koala's two buddies, so I'm glad they did their homework this time around.

Great signing. Can't believe our GM didn't do everything to try and retain him.

He did wonders with our defense. You guys will love him.

Semin and Thornton together could be pretty lethal.

The curious question is, it seems like Robinson was brought in to handle the defense.

Anyone have any insight here?

If we could convert Marleau to Centre...

Semin-Marleau-Havlat
Burns-Boyle

That's team speed O.O

So, the Sharks went after two defensive coaches? The defense will be great next year but the offense will be complete ****.

Did he work the PK?

I see the Caps improved their PK in the playoffs, so that seems encouraging.

I'm not sure, but everything defensive got better over the year. Holtby got a lot of credit in the playoffs, but JJ did a great job with the D. Unfortunately, Dale Hunter neutered the Offense so JJ's work on D went without much help up front.

Marleau is a natural center lol.

Ideally we are looking at something like:

Nash/Semin - Thornton - quick RW
Marleau - Couture - Havlat

Because Nash/Semin are fairly quick player (Semin being fast) and Thornton is a relatively good skater, we can survive with just an above average skater on the RW (Pavelski would be bare minimum). Doan or Mueller would be good options as well.

Second line needs 'fast' players on both wings to counter Couture's skating, and I think Marleau is the best fit there on the LW.

Kurz confirms Shaw gone. Looks like we are going back to meat and potatoes on defense: Robinson and Johnson.... one step removed from Smith and Jones

Wish it were 3rd line center. Bet he could still play if it weren't for the injuries...
