Amazing deal!! Couldn't be happier lock up one of the heart and soul players of this team from the last decade for then next 4 years. Fan favourite, brings it every single game, strong leadership skills and he's coming off a career season offensively as a nice little bonus.

I fully expect Neiler to up his game this season and take even more of a physical/agitator role with Konopka/Carkner gone.

Here's to him retiring a Senator

And this calls for a Tiger fist pump....

Yup, you're right but barely lol! 05-06 he had 16 goals, this past season 13. 05-06 he had 33 points, this season 28.

Maybe this season he hits 35 points.....

It would be nice if he could, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it to happen.

Brilliant signing. Chris Neil is such an integral part of this organization and I don't see him ever playing with another team. He would of gotten so much more on the open market.

Neil loves this team and the city, good to see him take less $$$ to stay here his whole career pretty much. If he wants to play past 37 and there's somehow a spot for him on the team sign him to a 1 year deal of something. He has to play his whole career here.

No, but Foligno was definitely well on his way to becoming one of "those guys", because of his character.

Dude is team glue, team spark, team muse. He brings it.

I love his occasional display of soft hands, doesn't panic with the puck, it's not just energy and checking and scrapping.

Exactly... He was 24 years old, just finished playing his 5th season here and was a huge heart and soul player on and off the ice...

Ecstatic that neil is with the team for another 4 seasons. I hope he retires a Senator! **** lets put 25 up in the rafters along with 4 and 11 when it's all said and done. Give the Senators a bit of history

Coulda gotten a helluva lot more on the market, I think its great for the organization to keep players around that want to play here and are willing to take fewer dockets to do it.

If you want to play here you should leave money on the table. Besides, it's what...a few hundred thousand? Woop dee doo.
Like the big boss says...if you want to have a big house and a new car go elsewhere.

Decent signing, term is a little long but it keeps Neil in the fold in the (unlikely) event Murray or his nephew isn't the next GM.

Nice, love this signing! Another lifelong Senator, that's something these days and we're going to have at least two, probably three over their short history.

I remember when Neil signed his last deal he spoke about how he's bled and broken bones for the team and city. Can't wait to hear the cheers when he's announced for the opening game in October.
