That's an awful trade, especially since he wouldn't stay in Philly. Also he's a ******.

Should've made it clear, its not what I wanna do, just was playing with stuff and how we could actually get a starting 5 with what we had.

Sheesh. He was awesome the first 10 games of the season. Then a complete non-factor in the playoffs. Guy has a lot of tools, just hasn't consistently put it all together.

An era ends in the desert and the Lakers finally get a real point guard. All in one surprise move.

The Phoenix Suns have reportedly agreed to sign-and-trade point guard Steve Nash to the Los Angeles Lakers for future draft picks, according to ESPN.com. Ken Berger of CBSSports.com has confirmed the details.

ESPN.com reports that Nash will receive a 3-year contract worth more than $25 million.

The Arizona Republic reports the Suns will receive the Lakers' first round picks in both 2013 and 2015 while also receiving second-round picks in 2013 and 2014.

The Lakers hold a $8.9 million trade exception created when they traded forward Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks in December 2011. Nash presumably slides into that exception, Berger reports, allowing the Lakers to receive Nash without sending back salary in return.

The agreement emerged on Wednesday after rumors in recent days linked Nash as a possible sign-and-trade target for the New York Knicks. The Toronto Raptors also reportedly offered Nash a 3-year contract worth $36 million.

Damnit Rick, seeping into my brain), and almost certainly his last bigger one. At least he'll have a few opportunities to seal the deal.

Sixers signed Nick Young to a 1-year deal (6 mil).

Amnesty Elton Brand.

Have to think they are up to something with the Amnesty of Brand who only had one year left.

Lou Williams announced on twitter that the team decided to go in a different direction.

I'm glad they didn't over pay Williams and got away from Brand's contract but I don't know what to think of Young.
He instantly becomes their best scorer but he takes so many bad shots way more than Williams did and that's saying something.
It's only a one year deal though.

As FlyGuy pointed out Brand only had one year left so you'd have to think they're up to something. But Mark Stein said that they couldn't afford Hawes and N.Young without amnestying Brand.

This is where they stand right now:

PG-Holiday
SG-Turner
SF-Iguodala
PF-T.Young
C- Hawes
BN- N.Young, Allen, Harkless, Moultrie, Vucevic.

They've got 3-5 roster spots to fill.

I still think Iggy gets moved.

I like Young on a one year deal. The guy is talented. He has to prove himself. I would have liked for them to look at OJ Mayo, but it seemed they had no interest.

I agree with your last point. Maybe I'm reading too much into the Nick Young signing. I could see Nick Young at the 2, Turner at the 3, trade Iggy for a big man? The front court as it stands now isn't gonna cut it. If Nick Young is a flop, Turner back to the 2, Harkless is ready to step into the 3 spot possibly (2013-14 season).

If they don't trade him they have 2 spots left. Could use a true backup point gaurd, possibly another big man, and maybe a developmental guy as the 12th man.

Really stupid using the amnesty on brand when he only has one year left and we have no need for the cap space this offseason. I hope they can dish iggy this offseason and go with a youth movement.

Yeah I'm not sure what the Brand move really means at this point. Maybe something else is coming though. I do like the Nick Young signing, because it's only a 1 year deal. Hopefully they have some sort of plan in place with an eye on a major shakeup by next offseason.

Rumored trade (how reliable IDK)

Min:
Gets Batum

Portland:
Gets Iggy

Sixers:
Gets Derrick Williams

Would be fitting. Another tweener.

I would take Derrick Williams in a heart beat. Another young big who has potential. Might as well roll the dice with potential than spend 15 mill on iggy who is at best a number 3 option on a team.

Sounds like Portland doesn't want that contract.

I want more than just Williams for Iggy. He was kinda disappointing in his rookie year. Maybe we can also get one of Minny 37 PGs to back up Jrue and a pick or 2.

An Iguodala trade should've happened before the draft. If the Warrior or Raptors rumors were true, we would be grooming Andre Drummond into an elite center right now.

Derrick Williams is a heck of a player whose blocked by Love. There now making him lose weight to play SF when he is a much more natural PF. He had a few big games last year and certainly has a boatload of potential.

Sixers trade for SF Dorell Wright...

They traded that Edin Bavcic guy they had overseas. Remember him?

They have so many bodies at the 2/3 positions.

Gee whiz. Not sure what there plan is with him. Either way they acquired two guys who can shoot in Young and Wright. They could still use a backup PG and a big that can rebound. I here Dejuan Blair is available. He's only 6'7 but he gets boards. Would love to have him here.

I like the trade. They pretty much got something for nothing and Wright's another youngish guy with some ability that they can evaluate next year and then decide if they want to keep him around.

Head scratcher. How many small forwards do we need? I guess they got him to be our 3pt threat/specialist. In 2010-2011 season he led the NBA in 3pt attempted and made. He's a late bloomer, low-risk high reward player not a bad trade if you think about it.

Love the Dorell Wright trade. Dude's a great athlete who can play and has shown flashes before; hit the most three pointers in the league during the '10-11 season, took the most too. Shot .376 from beyond the arc, which ranked 62nd in the league in terms of three point shooting percentage. I guess some would use that as evidence he's an inefficient high-volume player? Whatever, smart low risk/high reward move by the Sixers, the type that can pay major dividends down the line.

My friend is a huge NBA fan/nerd and refers to Wright as "Little T-Mac." No, not MacCulloch. McGrady. So there's that. Also could be another one of those drafted out high school players who takes a while and a few different teams to finally put it all together and break out.
