completely forgot about him, so much d depth though. canadian defensemen will have to have good seasons + good december camps to crack this squad.

Definitely a good chance. 100+ point player this year. Scheifele or another scoring centre along with Huberdeau sticking in the NHL would really help his chances although he could probably play wing too.

This.

Such a complete player. He will be Canada's top defender.

D core should really be:
Murphy
Rielly
Dumba
Reinhart
Ceci
Hamilton or Murray if they are around - if not then Harrington

Murphy - Hamilton/Murray/Harrington
Rielly - Dumba
Reinhart - Ceci

It would take a complete disaster in net for that team to not at least get a silver medal

No clue, Fucale seems like a common pick

Assume Huberdeau and Hamilton make the NHL.

A natural goal scorer who comes up big in the clutch and has Memorial Cup experience like Griffith would be very helpful.
A Subban Fucale duo would be very good. If Subban falters or somthing happens Fucale can for sure step in and be the number 1

Throwing in another goalie that hasn't been said yet, but will definitely get a long look this year, Laurent Brossoit. He's been steadily improving from his draft, culminating by getting the MVP of the WHL playoffs. Know he was in the summer camp for team Canada, surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet on these boards.

Oh I didn't see it in the 3 pages, albeit I looked pretty quickly and may have missed it; anyways, My thought had always been that it could be Subban and Brossoit in net this Christmas, but I haven't seen much or any of the Fucale goalie so I can't comment if he is any better than the two or not.

Yes, and as others have mentioned: Morrow, Oleksiak & Beaulieu are too old. Additionally, I think Hamilton is a sure bet to make Boston's roster and (like Seguin) not be released for the tournament.

I also think Murray will not be released for the tournament, as I expect him to playing regular minutes for CLB. Murphy, however, may make the NHL but be released by Carolina -- even though he should probably just spend the whole year in Kitchener.

I don't think Stuart Percy will make the team. Nice player, but no "wow" factor, and Harrington already provides all that Percy does, and more. I also think Percy's lack of great speed might get exposed on the bigger ice surface in Russia. I don't see him cracking the team.

You need to make the team suited for the big ice so it won't be the same as the best players in NA game. Also smh at the amount of people who don't know who is eligible...

Puempel - Scheifele -Mackinnon
Shinkaruk- Strome-Rattie
Danault- Jenner-Monahan
DiGiuseppe- Catanacci- McNeill
Marcantuoni ( hoping for bounce back )

Harrington- Murphy
Reinhart - Dumba
Reilly - Ceci
Siemens

Subban
Brossoit

So far on forward the locks on everyone's depth chart seem to be... MacKinnon, Scheif, Strome, Shinkaruk and Rattie which make a good top 6 base. Then Jenner (obviously), McNeill, Puempel, Monahan, Di Giuseppe, Gaunce, Danault ad Wilson to take the last spots... Should be pretty good. I don't think however Hudon would make this team from the Q.

Then on D... On boy, there's plenty to choose from but locks are... Rielly, Dumba, Harrington, Murphy, Reinhart... That's a lot of locks lol... Then Ouellet, Ceci, Pouliot, Koekkoek, Siemens as the last spot guys. Reinhart may not be a "lock" after all but has a good chance.

Subban as starter and anyone could take back-up... Fucale, Marcoux, Brossoit. I think you all know why I want Fucale in there, but even as a 17yo, I believe he could step in and carry the load, if something goes wrong with Subban... Calm, cool, collective is the name of his game, and excels under pressure and in tense situations when the Moose needed him to be solid. (let's forget about Game 5 vs. rimouski )

We'll have no problem taking gold

But....Can we win?

Is there any other country's that look really strong? I'm not sure about Russia/Sweden/US, but isn't Finland going to be pretty strong?
