Pierre Gauthier named Director of Personnel of the Chicago Black Hawks

First of all, can't believe there isn't a thread already.

Secondly, this is just weird. Bergevin and Gauthier swapped places, more or less?

http://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey...blackhawks.php

There is already a lively thread over the Hawks forum.

Shouldn't a director of Personnel be great at communication? Even if you feel that Gautier got a bad rap and is still a capable hockey mind, how can this be the best job for him? I would have figured something more like director of Pro scouting.

I personally do not wish to discuss Gauthier ever again.

I'm astonished that he found another job so quickly... and that somebody hired him. Wow.

Lets trade with the Blackhawks. Give them Gomez and Kaberle for Bolland +picks.

Poor Hawks I wouldn't wish Gauthier to anyone, even Leafs or Bruins fans... Well maybe Bruins fans but whatever.

I have 2 theories as to why there was no thread on this yet:

1. everyone is still in shock and left speechless that he got another job after running this team into the ground

2. everyone wishes to just ignore his existence now that he is out of our hockey club and lives

Good for him. Hope he does a better job for them than he did with us.

The anorexic vegan is going to have one hell of a tough time walking the streets of the "windy city".

Maybe when he is not the big boss that decides everything, the guy does less damage. Bergevin got the "lots of brains thinking together" model from the Hawks, right ? When there are many people around the table, you want diversity in opinion.

the reason you are astonished is because you know nothing about pro hockey compared to gauthier.dont get me wrong i was happy when he got fired but he is a smart hockey man and he did alot of good for our team.you really think stan bowman is a blind idiot ??people on here need to give they re heads a shake if they think they are anywhere near as knowledgable as pierre gauthier.

useless bag of mostly water.

The NHL is the ultimate bluebox - reuse, recycle, repurpose. Nothing new.

He signed Erik Cole. He moved up to draft Jarred Tinordi. He kept Price over Halak.

Next.
