I hate the Wild just as much as many Canucks fans do, but to sit there and bash the character of a classy player, simply because he signed with one of our rivals is fairly childish if you ask me. It's no different than the amount of people who have made Justin Schultz out to be a complete piece of garbage (only a day after calling him great), simply because he signed in Edmonton.
I really have no problem with him signing there at all. I actually said that would probably be the best option if he actually left NJ. I mean, it's better than spoiling Pittsburgh to death, right? I look forward to smacking the Wild.
Was this the guy responsible for the Gomez/Mcdonagh trade?
The story from Habs fans, was that Bob Gainey was the Gm at that time but that Gaujier's "fingerprints" were all over the deal. Possibly true. Gainey was dealing with the sudden death of his daughter around that time.

Thanks.
That's very sad about his daughter. I believe his wife passed away from brain cancer in the mid 90s. Very sad, indeed.
There's a picture of him without a shirt on at the draft combine in 2010 and he's quite physically underwhelming.
Aaaaand I found it.
You don't need massive pecs to be physically strong. He has massive core muscles, which is all you really need as a hockey player.
Take Crosby for example. That guy has worked out his entirely life for hockey, if you check out his pictures, he's not super jacked like others, but his core muscles are without a doubt in the top5 in terms of strength in the league today.

that's a strong 18 year old, and a frame that can put on 20lbs easily in a few years. the average hockey player tends to look like a soccer player, very lean. the good ones don't look like football players, only the laraques and boogaards.
Sure wonder what happened to him, did well in colorado, traded to phoenix, put up decent numbers, then traded again. then again, and now signing a 600k /one year contract with the capitals

Injuries. Wow, I wouldn't mind getting him for 600k for one year. Much better than Ebbet at the odd forward out. He is big at 6'3 215 too.

Hard to believe its just because of injuries? The guy played the first many years with playing most games in the season and only really had one year, this previous one where he had injury problems, that makes him that unwanted and worth 600k at 26 and his size and scoring ability?
Phoenix gave up on him pretty quickly
As did New York. Though I can understand a little more why New York did considering his not that great play before he got traded to them in combination with his play there but still
I rather have him as a spare part than Raymond, atleast one is capable of being a high producing player when hes on his game. and not just a scoring 3rd line winger, mason will never be stronger or have a better shot
