That would have been awesome (Parros). A real enforcer....

That seems backassward. Why would they change it to a reshape after Nash asked for a trade? Giving up your best player means rebuilding to me. But then again, they are the Jackets.

You're right, they ARE the jackets... I'd be interested to see if the organization seemed more in "desperation" mode if a Nash trade is never discussed/asked for. Seems like shipping out Carter, with the little ancillary moves so far wouldn't have changed much of the shape of the team if Nash had never asked out.... And with an extremely weak FA class (Howson might have thrown an offer at Parise, even knowing it had a snowball's chance in hell of being accepted) Howson would likely have had to get into a bidding war for P.A. Parenteau, or traded at least the 2nd overall for an established top sixer, He might be more hesitant to make the deal for Bob because of that, maybe even throwing a late rounder at Toronto for at the least the rights to Gustavsson, then likely having to overpay for him to keep the masses from rioting that Mason still appears to be the guy.

It really sucks when a team's entire fanbase is more competent to manage a hockey organization than its GM

If there's one player we can say Howson banked too hard on, it was Brassard....

Overpayment? Nobody has had as many fights as him over the last 4 years. That's damn near league minimum for someone with 5 years in the league. They just payed Aucoin $2 mil to sit on the bench, was that overpayment? He isn't here for offense...I'm very happy he's back, never have too many guys willing to fight for their teammates.

Because if we are going to trade for a goalie, or keep Nash and trade for forward help for him, some teams view players to be more valuable when they have 2 or 3 years remaining on a contract.

Someone would want Boll. If he is part of a package that brings us a quality forward, or part of a big package that brings us a goalie...

Now, a team can get a middleweight 4th liner for $1M per year and have him for at least 2 years.

You can't let players that other teams want just walk away. Whether you want them or not, you have to sign them.

Remember, we all have a one year plan, but management (in any business) has a 2 year, 3 year, 5 year and even 7 or 8 year plan. Yes, somewhere CBJ brass knows what the team will look like in 3 years...

At least he got some competition.... I understand the organization would probably like to see RyJo steps over Brassard and take the numer one center job and never let it go, but outside of the Carter acquistion, this organization's has done everything it could to serve that job on a platter to Brassard.

It's obviously not a big deal either way, but it's the little things, ya know?

Can anyone explain to me what Boll can do that a huge variety of AHL players- who would die to play for league minimum salary- cannot do?

Getting in lots of fights doesn't help momentum when you lose probably 80% of your fights, 50% of which are lost by absolute thrashing.

Man I want to just embrace Boller (figuratively - well, maybe... uh, anyway) but this.

Its funny.... We all said the same things about Shelley (losing fights consistently), then he was dealt, and people started an uproar that we had no "identity" because we traded him....

IMO Boller i underrated but he is better than Dorsett, he is better in the front of the net and if he begins to think about hockey and not only fighs he could be good third line player IMO.
